Frosty... There is plenty of Current metal that is awesome.
Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Children of Bodom.
You just have to look outside of America... America turns out trash Heavy metal in epic proportions. Norway, Finalnd and Sweden are the way to go.

But as far as Rock and Metal goes America did have its golden era like Metalica(up until after the black album) and Megadeth

that is true however im not a big fan of Screaming metal, I'd like to understand what the vocalist is saying. but i like Lamb Of God though, their riffs are sweet

[Lekk [VN]]

TM Revolution, the brilliant green, ash like snow, muramasa.

[Frosty {A|R}]

Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth

[Bleed.the.Fifth[DAM]]

Metal/Hard Rock
Punk rock (no ska...bleh!)
Hip-Hop (you know, the shake your butt music that isnt "gangster")
Grunge
Jazz
Some techno type stuff but not much, have to be in the mood or driving REALLY REALLY FAST

And a buncha other music that I cant really put into a category. Probably the finest example of this is a band called Polkadot Cadaver.... everyone else would probly label this band as a hard rock gig.. but me.... i call it insanity with a melody behind it.

some of my fav acts would have to be Primus, Sikth, TOOL, Dog Fashion Disco, Fear Factory, Killswitch Engage, Nine Inch Nails, Self, Atmosphere, Divine Heresy, In Flames, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Lynard Skynard, ACDC, Apathy, Demigodz crew, Sage Francis, The Suicide Machines, Glue, and Pennywise in no particular order. Only thing i dont really care for is country music, which is funny.... cuz i was born and raised in Nashville, TN

also, i go to clubs on 80's music nights, simply cuz thats where the girls are, and its a lot better than having to listen to Souja Boy type club music. Club pop is not welcome in my cd case. Or cd player, for that matter.
