Hey guys, Yensho here!

It's likely none of you know me, as I just joined today. So, I'm posting this to get myself familiarized with the rest of the Division, and also pick some things up.

I've recently been playing A LOT of Spy and Medic.

While I know my way around Medic and often succeed as it (trying not to toot my horn)I struggle greatly with Spy. So, I was wondering if I would be able to get to know someone and pick up some tips from them for Spy! :D

Basically what I'm looking for is a bit of a Spy Trainer. I know my way around the items, such as Disguise, (which I fail with) Cloak, Revolver, Knife, etc. However, I'm always either seen or recognized as a Spy.

So, if anyone would like to, or is Interested, please leave a little reply down below. :D

Goodbye and Happy Gaming
~Yen.

Oh boy another Spy thread.

Just do basic stuff like cloak behind enemy lines and stab high value targets like Medics. And try to add some variety to your disguises as well as make them be realistic. (ex: Disguising as a Sniper when at the front next to the enemy isn't very believable.)

No need to get into any complicated stuff.

Hello! Good to see so many new members lately! Add me on steam!
As for the spy tips, pretty much whatever goz said. But also, it pays off to switch disguises after every feign (if your using the dead ringer). Always move around. Get in, backstab, get out as if no one saw you.

See you around!

Pretty bad at the spy myself but wanting to say welcome! Great to see new faces around

…stab high value targets like Medics.

Medics aren't high value targets…

Please note: the above comment only applies when I am on the enemy team.

Welcome aboard!

Also, when I'm playing engie, please don't sap my stuff…

jk. Spies gotta do what spies gotta do…

The best thing actually is don't get seen. A disguise only really works at first glance. Don't be obvious "Oh noes! I've been seen! Run Away!" If a person spy checks you they never seem to do enough damage to kill you. Wait it out and if you aren't dead they'll accept you (Unless they are pyro.) They expect you to run from damage. If they do they'll chase you and kill you. So yeah, Don't get seen, if you do, act like you belong there.

Easiest thing use voice commands to your advantage call for help or yell incoming to make a disguise seem more believable or if push comes to shove practice with your revolvers and turn yourself into a headshot honcho if you use the amby ;)

Use voice commands to your advantage to make your disguises more believable for example a well place incoming with your team behind you can get you behind enemy lines easier than any invis watch. And as for what jeremy said don't be afraid to use other watches if you have to ;) most people suspect a dead ringer anymore.
Sorry for doubles computer is being glitchy....

I could gove you some tips, spy is my most played class after I reset my stats. Even before that, Spy was in the top.

Just add me on Steam :)

Tip #1 - Don't go for the obvious easy targets, because you'll end up dead. Don't go for revenge. Keep the Dead Ringer activated when not planning to stab. Learn the ammo locations if using Dead Ringer or the Invisi Watch/Reskins.

To play invisible guy well, you have to make sure to cloak before you go out into battle and stay hugging a wall to not be near any of the enemies that you are about to pass.

That's what is the mistake new people make when they play spy
I used the dead ringer, so they think they killed me

I've seen it happen a lot of times with my friends
Also, Cloak and Dagger can be a fail once it runs out, I used to think I was invisible when the cloak meter ran out.
My sister actually was doing that for a long time...

Welcome!

And instead of giving you every ounce of spy knowledge I have, I'll leave you with this (also helps with other classes):
Know the map. Get familiar with the placement of ammo and health packs (for cloak and to extinguish fire / heal), know where the enemy is coming from (take out teleporters!), and always have a general idea of where your team is at that you can retreat to if you find yourself in trouble.
Also, destroyed buildings are cloak GOLD MINES. Walking over a few pieces will completely refill your cloak with the DR or invisiwatch (very effective in feigning deaths in quick succession).
Watching other spies can be really helpful too, and we happen to have a bunch of good ones in eGO :). To name a few there's strabes, Hollowsoul, and N-Light. I won't be on much for a while but I'm always happy to try to help a spy in training when I'm playing.

^^^^^I guess this is very important too and I'd listen to wronskain first and foremost for he is the best spy in eGO.....

Okay, thanks everyone! :D

Wow, I'm surprised how many replies I got here. Thanks everyone, and I'll make sure to take in all advice here! Hopefully I can get better.

lolno

Good Spies in TF2 Division: Goz, N-Light, Strabes

*There isn't a "best Spy" in eGO, per se, these are the people who I think are pretty good is all.

Wrinklestain's a damned good Soldier though.

Have you seen him spah.....

Welcome to the Division!

I don't have any Spy tips for you, since I can only play Spy in pub servers away from all these good players. Heh.

Definitely check out our events. You can check the eGO TF2 Steam calendar page to know when they are. IP address included in event details.

If it is needed, I you can add me and I'll show a couple quick tips & tricks that will leave the opposition going "HOW DID I GET FACE STABBED" :D
