Just asking the question mentioned in the title. I play Pyro for a UGC Steel team, and it's pretty fun in a team, 1 of all class, complete communication and cooperation, and the ability to play against other good players, so your victories aren't hollow pub-stomping. Just wondering if anyone else plays competitively, highlander, 6v6, etc.

If you don't play competitively, why not? Feel free to discuss, criticize, praise, admire, or just chat about competitive tf2, ask questions I might be able to answer etc. You can also ask me about certain pyro scenarios and how I'd handle them!

We have our own Competitive Team, both in Highlander and 6v6.

Bother PepperRabbit for Highlander, or Wilson for 6v6.

I don't mean necessarily for eGO, and I'm aware of eGO's teams, but really it seems a majority of eGO members don't know about competitive play

Oh, ok.

Well, I do, but the only reason I'm not involved is because I just don't have the time or flexibility to be at a certain place at a certain time. It gets really annoying sometimes.

I play on the 6v6 team as the roaming soldier, we placed 3rd in ESEA-Open last season and are currently playing in ESEA-IM this season. I also just recently joined the Ginyu Force highlander team which plays in platinum and is one of the top 3 teams in the division in my opinion this season.

There are quite a few of us that know about the competitive scene, we just don't care for it. :)

I hurt people, competitively or not. Son, I hurt people.

I don't know exactly how many people play and like competitive, we used to have highlander events that not enough people would show up to. So we don't know exactly

A Ginyu, in my eGO? That's pretty awesome! I've been stalking Huey Lewis's youtube and occasionally twitch.tv since I play Pyro as well, and it's great to know that someone of your caliber is hiding within eGO :)

I am a competitive TF2 player, just like I am a pro drag racer. If you are at the light with me, when it turns green, it's go time; whether you know it or not!

I just signed up my team (the Morrow Days) the other day. Mostly eGO members. We're only going Iron, though, since this is more for fun than anything else.

I have thought about joining a team and playing pyro sense it is my best class, but Im not completely confident that I would be good enough.

If you want to do competitive pyro, highlander's your format! Start out in an iron or steel team, and as long as you can airblast people and projectiles, and protect the big guys, you'll do fine in your role. Competitive isn't about frags, it's about teamwork and cooperation. If you're getting topscore, but your medic keeps dropping uber from spies, you're doing badly. If you're bottom score, but your team pushes to victory, you're probably doing support pyro the right way!
