From what I have seen its basically the same with different characters and all. So gameplay wise its the same.

We could start up own squadron of Dota 2, got my copy from Tomi just recently. I'm totally noob though, so not a big difference from DoD:S

Although Prime answered this, DOTA was the warcraft based game that LoL/HON stemmed from.

That's true, the fact is DOTA 2 was there before LoL. So actually LoL is a rip-off DOTA 2

DOTA 2 has been in development for quite some time, as the original developers have had some hiccups in the development. My only issue with DOTA2 thus far, is the lacking graphics. But that is expected with such old technology. Granted, Warcraft III is going on 11 years old now
