Apparently, you can make lots of money making hats.

Reason 16739473 as to way artists and graphic makers (such as these) are awesome.

Well of course.....Max's Severed Head is like 100$ in keys. If a person wanted to really badly, they could just use that old MMORPG trick called Merchanting. Buy for low, sell for high. Rinse, wash, repeat.

I wish I could get in on this, but my role in the games world is more technical. I'm learning Maya at school and hate it.

SO ACTUALLY, if you follow up the article and go to the Valve economist's blog site, you can see him talk about arbitration rates in the TF2 economy, and how much room there is still for "merchanting" in TF2. If you spend the time to follow the economy, there's a lot of room for entrepreneurship. However, remember that Gabe is talking about creating content and getting paid a lot of real money, versus trading content in game for more content, which may or may not translate to actual income.

Lesson to be learnt: you make the hats you get the money and with the money you get the power. And with the power you surround yourself with unusuals and wear the hat of unbelievable wealth and respect because that's how you roll.
