My big question ? Long Post sorry

The Fast Camp Task Force is not an official eGO group or division. It is just a group who like to spawn camp. They like to coordinate spawn camps and call it maintenance. But it isn't an official eGO group.

There has not been any clear cut evidence that the spawn camping hurts our servers' ranking.

I'd like to personally thank Kazoo for clearing that up~ I'll not visit this thread again :P

Interesting, 'cuz to a newer eGO member like me & I'm sure most people whom just visit the site or the servers it sure has the 'feel" of offical. They wear the eGO tag, represent eGO even have "Dedicated Spawn Room Maintenance Achievement" .

I'm highly doubting that my story is the only such story of people just saying screw it I'll play some where else (but hey I could be wrong right?)

Seriously? This damned argument? I didn't think that Filling Vs Spawn Camping would actually become anything more than a joke argument.

We fill to keep servers up because if they're full, they generate ad revenue to sustain themselves and if we get enough ad revenue we can get another server. Thus the FFTF was formed to fulfill such a goal.

The FCTF is quite simply a mock FFTF that just fulfills a different goal for a joke. The goal of the FCTF is not to ruin the server experience, they just want to have their fun. (FCTF, do not say otherwise that the FCTF is a serious group anywhere in this thread. You know yourselves to be a bunch of trolls.)

Kazoo's point probably makes the most sense out of anybody's points here. The FCTF is not officially affiliated with eGO and are simply in existence just for their own entertainment. It is not the goal of eGO to ruin the server experience by spawn camping. Even then, it's quite silly to think that spawn camping would ruin gameplay in something like TF2.

There are, however, a few quotes I would like to bring up. In the battlefield division "On Conquest you may not enter the enemy uncap for any reason. Also you may only shoot into their spawn if they are shooting out." This is a warn kick ban offense. On Day of Defeat servers, "the rule has always been on eGO servers any player is allowed to kill any player anywhere as long as they as are not in the act of spawning." I am sure that if I had access to COD and CS private, I could find more quotes, but sadly, I don't. Regardless, as you can see, spawn camping is not allowed in other divisions. Perhaps we should rethink our situation.

No you see, spawn camping is banned in those games due to how easy it probably is to do it and how unfair it is. I absolutely abhor spawn camping in any game, but in TF2 it should be acceptable because of how hard it is to setup and how easily it can be countered. If people claim that their gameplay is "ruined" because of spawn camping, they clearly have not tried to stop the spawn camping they despise so much.

Let's take a look at a group that is officially recognized by eGO, the DoD:S Rangers. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/eGODoDRangers

Now compare that to the unofficially recognized group, the FCTF. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fastcamp

Notice that the Rangers include EdgeGamers in their name. The FCTF does not. Now coincidentally, the FCTF does say that they want "to provide an efficient spawning process for all players in EdgeGamers TF2 servers" but nowhere does it explicitly look like they actually are a part of eGO whereas the Rangers clearly show that they are with the simple inclusion of EdgeGamers in their title. The FCTF never officially represents eGO.

Yes we have a joke achievement for spawn camping. Is it a problem that we have it as a joke? CS:S has these:

So what if the FCTF has members wearing the eGO tag? Does it suddenly become mandatory that you can only be in one group at a time? Their members are just also a part of eGO, not necessarily representing the FCTF as a part of EdgeGamers.

tl;dr Spawn camping is allowed in TF2 probably because of the difficulty in setting it up and how simply it can be countered. The FCTF is just for their own entertainment and do not affiliate themselves with eGO nor do they try to ruin the server experience.

Puke-N-Snot, what Goz said is correct. And just to expand on the tags comment, admins must always wear their tags on our servers, so they can't simply take off the tags while they spawn camp.

I will be closing this thread since the question was answered. However, feel free to post a thread in the Drop Box if this is still a concern for you.
