I have been thinking about buying CS but I'm not sure on which one to get. Should i get GO or Source?

I played CS:S before and I enjoyed the gameplay.

So any thoughts?

Why not both?

But if you really have to choose, CS:S. We have more servers and support for Source.

I would pick CS:S over CS:GO any day. But that's just my opinion, You should buy both if their both on sale.

I'd say you should get CS:S because eGO has more servers on source than we do for CS:GO and most of our events are on CS:S if you plan on attending them.

Also most of the people in the Counter Strike division mostly plays source and our servers are heavily populated on most servers we support and it's obviously better.

But there's more servers in general for CS:GO than there is for CS:S.

CS:S is on sale for $4.99 on Steam for the Linux sale (75% off.. normally $20). If you can't get both, I would suggest Source. Five dollars is a great deal

CS:GO is the newest and will be relevant longer than CS:S. This same thing happened when source came out. There were more 1.6 players and servers... but that slowly switches. GO is becoming more and more competitive and it looks a lot better than source. If you have to choose one or the other, I'd say get GO and get a jump start on the rest of the Source world.

If possible, you should just buy both! :) However, as most people seem to agree, CS:S would be the better choice as far as eGO and gameplay is concerned. We have 6 servers (excluding event server) in CS:S as opposed to our 1 server in CS:GO. Plus, if you read a few reviews about CS:S vs CS:GO, you'll realize that CS:S has had the majority vote from the start.

A lot of that vote was from the initial release of the game. They have made vast improvements since then to make the game more competitive, and less like a console FPS.

Honestly, I'd say CS:GO > CS:S right now. I just wish more people would be on playing.

CS:S is on sale right now, so naturally I'd recommend it from a financial perspective at the moment.

That point would probably sum it all up right now.. We do have more source servers and we do have a large CS:S player base. If you are looking to play with eGO members on eGO servers then i would definately get CS:S instead. Once CS:GO builds more of a player base and more eGO members are active in GO instead of source then I would make the jump.

I will admit, I like the polished graphics and the gameplay in general for CS:GO. On the other hand, I like to play with other members on OUR punk free servers. CS:S over CS:GO for that reason..
