Yeah, yeah, yeah it's another step-down thread.
Anyways, In light of two recent promotions I have decided that my time as a leadership member has come to an end. Let me preface by letting you all know that the reason I am stepping down is because I feel that Zeak's promotion to DL and Vert's re-promotion to DL have made Op:X a much stronger division by increasing the division's leadership prowess and in Vert's case Planetside 2 is now in excellent hands and he can now implement many changes to improve its potential for success. Because of these promotions and the recent changes to our leadership team I feel that I can now step down with no regrets. The current Op:X leadership team is more than capable enough and able to conquer any challenges that may arise. I have been waiting for some time now to step down and I can finally do so without any worries as Vertago can continue to lead our Planetside operations and Zeak... well, Zeak is just a damn good, thoughtful leader.
A long time ago I dedicated myself to eGO in any way I could. In my previous division I was the only eGO hosting events for a long while until I was finally awarded an advisor position. I continued with my duties and gave the division my all. However, I left that division in haste due to circumstances deemed by me to be underhanded, cowardly, and badly administered (my very biased opinion).
However, I was graciously welcomed by the Op:X leadership team then led primarily by USCG Hammer, Yeti, and Digital DJ. I can honestly say with my unique perspective of multiple leadership teams that the best leaders in eGO are in or have come from the Op:X division. Since my transfer I have mainly assisted with Arma II and more recently Planetside 2. I found myself humbled by the level of dedication to the division that I have seen in Op:X and also found myself questioning my worth as an Op:X leadership member compared to the hard work that other advisors and DLs committed to the betterment of the division.
Unfortunately, experiences at the end of my tenure in my previous division left me wanting and doing less for eGO as a whole. My tenacity and willingness to start and complete all ranges of projects was tattered as was my will to do even minor tasks. For the last few months I have been actting as a leader but denying my duties as an advisor. If I want to lead but don't want to do the job of an advisor then I have no business with an advisor tag on. I regret not giving my 100% for Op:X when my previous self would have. However, I still believe I have helped improve the division just not nearly as much as I could have, if I had my previous motivation.
Regardless, I have had a lot of fun in Op:X and have found this division to be the most entertaining with its wide variety of games. I made a lot of new friends in Op:X who I have grown to respect and value as close personal friends whom I can share jokes with all day while we play and do what we like. The spirit of the Op:X division is unparalleled as our members have an air of empowerment and freedom I haven't seen anywhere else in eGO. You would be hard pressed to find a timid, cowardly, or immature Op:X member. The attitude and all-out ballsiness of Op:X members is second to none. Our members are without a doubt the toughest and sometimes the crudest around-- a true compliment and breath of fresh air in an otherwise strict environment. However these same crude, tough bastards gladly lend assistance or advice as soon as the situation arises. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Op:X members are like a mullet; business up front, party in the back!
To all of my friends and Op:X members, I am stepping down but I am still a Op:X member and I plan to be one for a long time.
It has been a true honor working and playing with all of you Op:X members. As I step down I do so in complete confidence of our leadership team who are unmatched in their leadership skills, technical prowess, and overall professionalism.
With great pleasure and a level of unparalleled respect I want to that Yeti for serving as an excellent DL who has remained approachable and has served the division well for years. I have never seen a better leader and would gladly follow him to hell and back as long as we did it brick-faced on some fine whiskey! (The entire Op:X team is amazing, it's just that I have had the most interaction with Yeti)
Love,
Stormy
P.S. No doubt there are many in eGO who are glad to see me go. I can't blame them. After all, I'm a crude, loud-mouth, uncontrollable bastard. However, no one can deny my strengths as a leader nor my tenacity when provoked. But at the same time I can guarantee you that the same people cursing me do so in a whimper. A whimper that may even be elevated to a whisper in the form of a sarcastic remark or a single sentence if and when they summon the courage. I have been looking forward to the day I step down so I can see the maggots crawl out from under a piece of rotting waste, trying to find strength in numbers and only venturing out when they fell they are at an advantage. Just remember: I might not have my advisor tags on any more but I'm Still Stormy and I still rejoice at the chance to stomp some bugs.
