Actually...
Actually, we've gotten less snow this year than the mid states and lower New England.
Warmer temps in the winter. Cooler temps in the summer. Less precipitation that most other states north of the Mason Dixon and east of the Mississippi. No crime to speak of. Reasonable incomes and higher than national average credit standing. Modest unemployment and a corrosponding high rate of home ownership.
I could go on if you like.
I guess you could complain about the higher property taxes...but really in balance, "Maine sucks" is a hard argument to make to anyone that's actually lived or visited here.
