1) How do i change my settings so i can get it back to the old console commands like cl_crosshairscale 9000 instead of crosshairsize
2) what is your best settings for crosshair do you have small crosshair or big ones?
3) What color shows up in every place on every map if you know one? thanks.

1. There used to be a cl_legacy_crosshair_scale setting, but it was removed during an update.

2. I have a medium size crosshair.

Rifle crosshair
Pistol crosshair

3. Purple seems to work the best for me. It shows up in every map for me. Red is also a good choice but it is an eye sore for me to look at.

I go with small and red. Red is generally easier for the human eye to pick up, so I went with that.

cl_crosshairstyle 1
cl_crosshairsize 2
cl_crosshairthickness 3
cl_crosshairdot 1
cl_crosshaircolor cyan
Set crosshair blend to 0

Amazing crosshair, you can easily see it and the dot gives it a little bling for headshots.

As far as colors go, the ones that will stand out the most and are most visible at all times are:

- a magenta/purple hue
- a bright green hue (this is what i use)

(the reason I didn't write red is because even though it's a stand out color in many applications, there's a lot in css that could cover that)

I wouldn't make the crosshairs too thick simply because you won't see as much when you aim for headshots or smaller targets, it might get in the way. Same goes for length.

I use bright green because of my playtime in TF2 where it is the least used colour, although vegetation in CS:S kind of nullifies this but bright green crosshair seems to still always be visible in CS:S.

Colors can be important too!

I find that the color of the cross hair is important too, depending on what map you are on and how dark some spots are or how bright some spots are!

A red dot is generally best for me, although I switch to purple in maps with a lot of red, and green/cyan in darker maps or if my eyes get sore from the red. Also, a dot is good, but also setting the thickness and the size to as small as possible (so you get a crosshair of 5 dots) is extremely good too, especially for larger screens (32 inch TV anyone?) or tapping.

Alfonse, I tried the small dot/square thingy a while and I have to say its pretty bad compared to the standard crosshair Spark posted. Its way too small for your eyes. Thats atleast what I found out for myself.

Yeah, I will admit it is small. It sucks because the second smallest dot is too big for tapping, and the smallest dot is a single pixel and is impossible to see. Lately I've gone towards really thin normal size crosshairs, or the one I mentioned earlier with 5 small dots, as it's basically like the big dot but you can see through it for tapping.

Yea, you should just try out smaller crosshairs if you can't get used to the
normal sized ones. But I would keep my hands off dots and stuff tbh..
it's all personal preference but, many people I know who play with dots tend to play worse then
with normal crosshairs and they don't really notice

I prefer to use red auto sizing cross-hairs. I play a lot of office and the bright red is in clear contrast to a lot of the cooler blues. I am aware the the auto sizing is a bit misleading, but i only use it as a general scale of how the recoil is working.
