Yorick

What are your thoughts on yorick? How good is he in lane? How strong do you have to be to face him?

i never follow the nerfs/buffs. However, I've done very well in top lane with him in the past.

He really strong in lane near op in my opinion but he is kind of useless in teamfights

I don't own yorick but I see a lot of players build him more and more for a late game. Almost like a nasus build.

I find he is good mid-late game. The only problem with him is that if you go into a brush when his ghouls are out, his damage source is gone.

Yorick is one of the strongest top lanes because of how few mechanics actually counter him. While most of us are not at a level to use mechanics well enough to actually play into most counters (except for probably garen on akali) it doesn't matter. The good thing about yorick is his ability to slowly poke people. One does not lane against Yorick, you survive. So champs like Cho, Trundle, maybe even Xin can survive the best against a Yorick.

Yorick falls to champions that have some sort of AOE. Cho'Gath and his passive combo'd with his vorpal spikes makes him one of the best counters to yorick. Any champ that can kill his ghouls whiles doing damage to yorick himself is a threat to him. Another great counter to yorick is trundle. Trundles passive will literally make him have more sustain then yorick, because each time one of his ghouls die, trundle gains a percentage of his health back.

I find he's good but takes quite a bit to master, I've managed to poke out yoricks with jayce quite often, if you can range poke frequently or have some decent aoe poke you should be ok but I haven't top laned against a good yorick yet so I might be totally wrong. On another note, we played a game against a support yorick last night and they did pretty well (cait adc).
