There are no more original ideas

yes, and that leads to another point.

Does every tv show need to be a movie or every movie need a tv show?

we have a separate forum for threads like this. This forum is for Planetside 2 related threads

Well .... lets see here

Red Dawn ... 2012 remake - did not like :bored:
Total Recall .. 2012 remake - kinda liked, still noone can top Arnold "Get to tha choppa" Schwarzenegger
And Evil Dead remake commin 2013 or 14 -_- w/o Bruce Cambell

mmm okaay , it's sad they sometimes , take's all the good , and just wreck them

Well I have a theory behind remakes. Studios own these properties that are essentially making nothing. Sure back in the day they raked in some cash with their initial release then, the case of Weird Science, its VHS release and then its inevitable DVD and Blu-ray releases...possibly some licensing revenue if it's shown on TV. But eventually a property will dry up and then it's just a worthless copyright that the studio owns. So in order to make some more money off the property they make another film or adapt it into a TV series. It makes sense since not only will they make money off the new iteration, but DVD/Blu-ray sales of the original will jump with the remakes release.

I really can't blame the studios for doing this, from a business stand point it makes perfect sense. Though they're almost always terrible.

The Evil Dead remake came out like 3 weeks ago. It was alright, but it looks like we're getting Army of Darkness 2 out of the whole thing...which is great news.

they are running out of ideas in hollywood

so now they have to mess with the classics

Think about it, if people didn't want to see remakes then why do so many people go and still pay about 17 dollars for a ticket to see them? The only way the studios will stop making crappy movies or remakes over remakes is people need to stop going to them and do not fund the crappy mentality, also its a name that people know and brings in people instantly.
