I travel back to my country (Thailand) every 2 years. I have some family back there and its always good to have some original Thai food once in a while.

I getting geared to do my yearly summer week of vacation in Mexico.

I was thinking about the fact that until my now wife went with me for the first time 3 years ago, she had never been out of the USA.

That got me thinking about how, even as "small" as the world has gotten, it seems like "mankind" still does not go outside their comfort area very often.

I spent a few weeks in Brazil about a decade ago (Rio is a freaking party town!). And I spent 5 years north of Seattle, where I would drive up to BC on a regular basis.

Back in mid 2000's, I did a 15 hour bus ride (one way) in the Yucatan Peninsula. I saw..things.. that your not really exposed to here in the States. It was an eye opener about how parts of the world live. Brazil was the same way.

Anyways..was just wondering how many people travel.

I've been to Canada 2-3 times, but not in the past 10 years.

no way i'd leave the usa right now -barely safe here much less anywhere else -I did while in the military and not now with my family - world very unstable right now and getting worse everyday

I travel a lot. Been to more countries than I can count. I travel every couple of months for about a week and I go to LA every summer. Been to at least 4 countries in each continent! About 24 in total.

I live near the busiest border crossing in the world, and used to go to Mexico several times a month. I'm on the Board of Directors of a charity based in Mexico and still have many contacts and clients there. However, "it's a whole nuther country." I adopted my son in Mexico, and after the adoption was finalized (2001) I haven't been back. Between corruption, bad water (when they say "don't drink the water" they mean it), and demolition derby driving where lane markers are mere suggestions, I'm just not interested.
I have considered a vacation in New Zealand (one of my former clients was the Team New Zealand America's Cup racing team) but the idea of spending 12 hours in an Aluminum tube with the huddled masses just doesn't thrill me as a way to relax.

To my knowledge I've been outside the borders at least twice in my lifetime, at least once to Vancouver, B.C. and once to Japan for my 2nd year Japanese trip.

i had a great opportunity to visit England or (United Kingdom) i should say when i was younger and would love to revisit as i am in US...

I've only been outside Florida to go to Georgia, Alabama, and across Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana to get to Texas. So, never left the USA. :(

One of the cruise ships I worked on, the Carnival ship Tropical, was in 6 different ports in 7 days.
Our home port was San Juan Puerto Rico. We traveled to St. Martin, St. Thomas, Grenada, Caracas Venezuela, and Aruba. The last day was at sea returning to San Juan.
The passengers would be worn out after the week. As a musician we worked about 20 hours and lived the good life the rest of the time. I also had my own room with a porthole.
