Hi everyone! This is the thread for all updates about the beginner competitive TF2 group! We'll be updating this post with info about workshops, scrims, casual games, and all sorts of fun stuff! Come enjoy competitive TF2 with friends. Check back often! (Updated: May 29, 2013)

Our server is still down, BUT we're working with WM right now to bridge the gap! Major thanks to Clayton for allowing us to share their competitive highlander (18 slot) server! All our events while our normal server is down will happen here. Server IP:

Join the steam group for announcements and.. stuff. You could just check here, but numbers.. YAY!! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/cbTF2Comp

Events this week: (Note on times: All times in PST; for MST add 1 hour; CST = +2; EST = +3; GMT = +8)

Thursday May 30, 5 PM: eGO casual 6v6 scrim - We're inviting all of eGO to come and play against one another for nice friendly fun. This was a little hard to pull off on Tuesday, so please be on time, if you plan to come! This will be the competitive format of 6v6, but it will be casual and just for fun. Hope to see you there!

Please meet up in vent at 4:50PM PST, so that we can give everyone the passwords and set up teams and logistics.

Thursday May 30, 6 PM: 6v6 Workshop with Slither - Slither is returning to give some introductory help with 6v6. This will be geared more for the beginner competitive player, but will be a good time of practice for everyone. Slither will also specifically go over rollouts on different maps.

Again, please meet up in vent.

Saturday , April 1: We'll be opening up the server for lobbies. Meet up in vent so we can coordinate if you would like to join in.

Sorry, note the change to Wed's Highlander event, it has been pushed back 30 minutes to 5pm PST.

So, after doing some serious sniffing around, I found out that my apartment management blocks the UDP (communication) port that is necessary to use Vent. I'm just curious if you guys are using Vent or the in-game chat during these scrims and practices.

Well I wasn't really clear either haha. But, we're meetin up in game so we can show people things, etc. etc. But, we're using vent to communicate. I might consider trying to pipe in a stereo mix through the in game mic.. but that might be a lot of trouble XD. I'll try.

The Intro to Highlander Workshop is tomorrow! Hopefully! Assuming we get a server XD But come to vent ANYWAYY!!! Thanks :)

New update on server issues: recent update is causing us issues, so we'll be working tonight and tomorrow morning to resolve the issues. HUGE thanks goes to Deathmane for doing the technical work and for being so willing to spend the time to make things work!

The upshot is that the Intro to Comp: HL event tomorrow may be moved to a different server. If we can't fix our server and are unable to find an alternate, then we'll just go over the basics in vent. Please come, even if things don't go to plan, a number of people worked hard to make this happen, and they're pretty hard to reschedule :p

Another update: we're changing servers for tonight's event. We're still working on our server, so we'll be switching over to eGO's league server, which TF2 leadership has graciously allowed us to use tonight. IP: 174.36.38.41:27015

The event is still at the same time, and we should be back to our server after tonight (hopefully). See you guys there!

This is really just a bump.. not as though anyone actually reads this thread :<

But anyway, VP and Slither will both be leading workshops on Friday for Highlander and 6s, respectively! Come out to support them and to learn more about how to play each format. SlitheR has mentioned that he plans to go over specific rollouts on several 6s maps, so if you already came to the first 6s workshop, please feel free to come back and get some more practice!

I've read it and read it more then once.
And Congrads !

So.. I'm not gonna update the main screen just yet, but the update today has brought down a lot of servers, and we may not be up in time for tonight again. I apologize for all the recent technical problems, we're still holding on to the hope that things will work out for tonight. Thanks for your patience!

Was anyone on today, I believe the server had crashed? D:

Didn't get to do my first event :D
