Hey folks, new member here, just stopping by to say "Hi" and introduce myself.
I'm a lifelong gamer, starting out with Telstar Combat (Google that for some good laughs), and working my up through Atari, Nintendo 8-bit, Sega Genesis, and then discovering....PC!! A decade ago I even ran my own DoD clan and had my own server! (didn't last too long - other things in life called). But I played enough DoD back in the day that, even today in source, if I have a garand in hand I STILL want to right-click to THWONK somone in the head with it! (I die a lot that way :w00t: )
Now that I'm getting 'old' and have played every genre of game about 4 times over, I'm starting to settle down and realize that the best games (for me) must meet three criteria: 1 - Be a game I can pop in and out without affecting anyone elses experience 2 - Not be a 'progression based' game (WoW, Rift, etc) 3 - must have a great community I can join.
DoD:S and TF2 fit the above, and I have always loved both Mods (originally) and games now. Started into DoD:S last week again after a good month of TF2, and found ego donner....your members hooked me in quick. Love the way servers are run.
So - here's to getting to know you all and becoming a part of the community.
