So, I'm a TF2 guy. Because of the Summer Sale I got offered CS Complete for a couple of TF2 keys. I knew that eGO had a CS division, so I went for it. I logged onto CS:GO and I really like the game, but I noticed that there's only one eGO server and it's labeled competition and is empty. I played CS:S a little, but didn't like it very much and it has a bunch of servers. Am I missing something? Do we have more CS:GO servers that I just didn't see? Is there something about CS:S that I missed that somehow makes it that much better of a game?

CS:S has the eGO following, but CS:GO is the superior game.

I think most people will shift to cs:go once the cs:s community starts to realize that cs:go is a better game

I know not of what you speak. What language is that? But in all seriousness, CS:S is still the more popular game, CS:GO is more up there in terms of tech and(as much as I hate to admit it) gameplay. The only problem is the lack of a sizeable player-base. It'll take a long while until GO catches on and CS:S becomes completely obsolete. Until then, CS:S will remain the 'better' Counter Strike game. So yeah, RDK has it spot on and so does enfo. (Plus the lack of eGO CS:GO servers. If it did start catching on, the little 10-man classic comp server wont cut it :()

P.S.: Scortch, more people enjoy Source more than GO. As rdk stated, Source has the eGO following, and thus, more popularity within the division. Not to mention you probs played GO before Source. You might've set your expectation for Source a tad high. (Psst, play the jail server :) )

Thank you all for your feedback. I'll try Source again. I did try GO first, as I was trying them in the order they show up on Steam and it's alphabetical. I didn't even know which one was newer until I played them. Then it was pretty obvious. Either way, I'll give Source another try and hopefully I'll get into it. Otherwise I'll just have to wait around for people to catch onto GO, by which time I should be dominating you all. :)

I sent you a friend request on steam, hit me up whenever you want to play some CS:GO :)

Yeah, we really need to do something about our cs:go server. Its been filled twice the past 30 days and it only has 10 slots. WUT.

Anyone who wishes to play competitive is just going to matchmake into a game, rather than join a server and invite people.

Counter Strike Source is honestly never going to die. UNLESS they start shutting css servers down.. To much demand for CSS even with CS:GO being out for the amount of time that it has been out for.

Have there been any serious talks of making that server a casual classic server? I'd definitely be in favor of that. There are times when joining random pubs gets annoying. There seems to be more animosity towards eGO in CS:GO than there is in TF2, and at least once a day I get some pretty crazy insults thrown my way just for having the eGO tag in my name. I can handle myself and all, but an eGO server that I can play on would be nice, that way the nasties would probably just stay away. And if they didn't I could make them :)

Not by the members, though I would still throw my support towards deathmatch. Deathmatch is still the better option to get train your aim and practice with different guns on different maps. I personally don't play classic casual because competitive is pretty much the same thing, without odd gains on money from kills (and without 16k money that would inevitably get added).
