Hey guys,
I've been a member for a little over a week and am enjoying meeting all the other members in the CS:S division. Just wanted to post here to say "hey" and give a quick bio -
Name - Nick
Hometown - Saint Louis, MO
Age - 35
I started playing CS when it came out way back when.. it had to be around 1999 or 2000? Played competitively and traveled to LAN competitions back in the day. Around 2004 I kinda burned out on FPS games so I switched and tried my first MMORPG, called Dark Age of Camelot. The name sounds so cheesy, I know.. but it's actually a really good PVP game. Anyway, met my wife and got married in 2007 and have been blessed with 2 wonderful children, a 6 year old daughter and a 3 year old boy. So as you can imagine I have nowhere near the amount of free time needed for a MMORPG.
So I decided to try CS again, picked up a copy of CS:GO and tried it for a week or so. The new graphics were cool and the game was fun, but it just didn't feel "right" to me. So I booted up my old CS:S and was immediately reminded of how much fun the game is. I've been playing daily for a couple weeks now and having a great time. Still a bit rusty and working on getting my twitch reflexes honed again, but overall having a blast.
Anyway, thanks for accepting me into eGO and I look forward to meeting more members and hopefully moving up the ranks so I can help out in larger ways.
