I joined EGO a few months ago and have had a great time in our servers. I've gotten to know a few people that play in the evenings, but there are a lot of people I still don't know. So I thought I might take a moment and introduce myself.
I was born in Bloomington, IN.....(thats right, go Hoosiers!!). I struggled for most of my life trying to figure out what I wanted to do career-wise. I had a lot of dead end restaurant jobs and contract work here and there. We'll get back to this though.
In early 2010 I lost my dad to cancer. My brain kinda took a vacation and I found myself in a van full of hippies traveling to a Rainbow Gathering in Idaho. For about a year I lived on the streets relying on the kindness of others. One day I woke up and realized that this was not my path. Hippies are ok. But I like bathing. So I got myself a job, found a small apartment, and resumed life as a normal person. Whatever that is.
I moved back to Bloomington where I immediately met my future ex-wife. After trying for 8 years to keep things smooth with her family and her children's family from her first marriage, we parted ways. It was a pretty rough time, but her and I are still best friends and cant stop hanging out when we are in the same state.
Anywho, shortly after I met her, one of my long time friends that I grew up with introduced me to DoD 1.3. TGL_Clover is to blame for my DoD addiction(...thanks buddy!). After a bit of time playing, I resurrected his old gaming clan "Team Green Leaf" and brought it to 1.3 for the first time. We had a very successful clan for several years. It actually reminds me a lot of EGO. Except it was rated R. However we were based on respect and having a good time. I met Blaze (whats up Blaze!!) and his brother then, as well as many other high quality people that I still game with and keep in touch with to this day. I'm not as good at Source as I was in 1.3 but with people like EGO and TGL it doesnt matter. I have a great time and that's what its all about.
So screaming back to the present. After my divorce a few years ago I lucked into a job installing CCTV, fire and burglary alarms, and data lines in Dollar Generals, CVS's, and about every government agency in town. I had found my passion. I currently work as a technician for Comcast. I know, I know. You either love us or hate us. I am basically a repairman and installer. I do my best to sooth ruffled feathers and get their home network humming. I like the challenge of making an angry customer happy, and I LOVE the challenge of figuring out what is wrong in their network. You would have trouble believing some of the things I come across lemme tell ya.
So in a nutshell thats me. I'm an avid sci-fi fantasy bookworm as well as a dabbling writer. My favorite band is a 3-way tie between Korn, Tool, and Disturbed. Oh and there is a pic of my cats and then me. Anyway, well met. See ya in the servers!!!!
