You how you can check into locations, such as restaurants, using Facebook? Wouldn't it be cool if you could do the same when you are in a game server? Obviously, Steam, Origin, Xfire, etc are all about that, but using Facebook could be a great way to let people know where you are gaming and be an excellent recruiting tool for eGO.

What do you guys think? Would you ever post what server you are playing in on Facebook, or even Twitter?

My wife hates the games I play. I would never hear the end of it if she saw the posts on facebook.

I avoid posting such information on facebook. Already it asks for too much info, in my opinion.

facebook is for my normal friends.
the forums are for you guys.

It would probably get me in trouble.

Specially when I'm "working" from home, but I'm really gaming. Or the wife is out doing errands and I'm doing yard work.. but I'm really gaming.

Many situations like that.

I don't do facebook or twitter or any other social networking shenanigans.

I don't really mix my real life with my gaming, so no, I wouldn't use it :/ far too embarrassing.

I joined our Facebook group once and posted my gamertag on there. A pub player who didn't like an admin decision I made in a server once used that information to data mine me. Got my name, phone number, address. Thankfully the other information he found scared him from taking any action with that info. He apologized to me and told me what other websites he used so that I could bring it all down, but it all started with the facebook group.

Since then I've kept my RL and my eGO life separate. A necessary division.
