Promotions and YOU!

I think as of late there has been some misunderstanding as to how and why promotions happen the way they do. Promotions happen when leadership and regular members notice a player who is active and communicates in our servers. The player is then put onto a promotion list and it is discussed amongst us and he/she is either approved or denied. If he/she is approved he/she is added to a list to either be promoted at the next upcoming promo list, or we do a field promo in server, vent or an event.

Promotions don't happen instantaneously, just because you requested someone to be promo'd last week, doesn't mean its not going to happen.

There have been claims that Leadership only promotes those we play and hang out with regularly, this is not the case, however we spend more time with them and know their style in game. We can not be in the server 24 hours a day and people do get overlooked, but that where you as members come in by drop box'ing us requests so we can add them to the list.

I hope this clears up any confusion for promotions, as always if anyone has questions please feel free to PM any of us.

Dont wait around to be noticed, eGO is what you make it... get out there, get in vent... come to the events! Not just once or twice, and say to yourself, well I didnt get promoted... guess they just dont like me, but come often. Stuff like that does not go overlooked, trust me! We are a fun division! Enjoy it! Use the drop box! Thats what its there for!

I got fully promoted from an extinct division or should I say "evolved" division because I had no life and everyone was like a room mate. You had people you really liked and then 'others' but in the end you love them no matter what because they'd be there for you in a heartbeat and vice versa.

I stayed active on the forums, Ventrilo, and in-game. Attended events, meetings, etc. Made mistakes and still do every now and then, but that's part of the experience. You can't always be perfect, but if you strive to do what the eGO community stands for you will get noticed.

My own experience...

I've never looked to be promoted at any level. I just wanted to play the game in punk free servers and enjoy those servers with that kind of atmosphere.
Being apart of the community is a huge plus and there's such a diverse bunch of people to interact with, which always makes it interesting.

First and foremost, we're all people playing a game we enjoy playing. I'd like to assume that we enjoy playing on eGO servers because it is kept punk free and abides by a set bunch of rules that we all strive for and respect.

Being promoted should mean, being able to uphold those rules for all, as much as yourself so that everyone can enjoy gaming without all the possible bad stuff.

Play the game, play on our servers and just enjoy.
The admin stuff and promoting can come later when the time is right.

Just because someone is an admin or leadership, doesn't mean that some kind of status is held or someone is superior to the other, etc. Far from it.

When it comes down to it, we're all players who enjoy playing this game and enjoy being apart of this community. When you make it as simple as being able to enjoy yourself in-game and with the community... That's what eGO is about.

That's just my opinion.
