iphone

I am quite aware fo what ignorant means and again I say, please dont call me ignorant. Sure you could unlock your iphone - potentially get updates that will brick it, possibly or possibly not use it with other carriers and what? put some songs and stuff on there. Ok cool i guess.

Now if you really want to talk about a fun time then you should buy a Nokia 800 or 810. Now those, are open source - have an much larger suport base since htye are infact open source and dont have to go hiding anyplace and also have added gps features and things where you can directly interface with in software to do some really cool stuff. Thats the phone that gets the Electrical and Computer Engineers (and professors) excited here.

Not to mention that it had a huge support base in tact for a while before the iphone ever existed.

But hey thats ok, clearly i just have an opinion based upon disliking the shape of the apple logo or some other trivial thing. I couldnt possibly have a clue about unlocking phones and making your own software and doing about anything you want. All I know is that the iphone has an i in front of it so therefore i should bash it. Right?

Do they have NES, PSX, and GBA emulators for the Nokia?
Or how about an iPhysics clone? (which if you don't know what that is you're missing out)
Can you do network stumbling and wep cracking?
Or any of the other hundreds of awesome native apps available for it?
This isn't even talking about the web based apps.
Last time i checked the nokia's didn't have multi-touch either which is an extremely cool feature.
Who said you can't directly interface with software???

And wait it's only been out like 3 months??
And wait it has a full MacOSX OS?
And wait come February, apple is releasing an sdk??

Most of the apps available are open sourced on googlecode :D

i've used and played with a large number of apps and have yet to brick my phone.
Unless you have a phone that came with their latest firmware installed , there is almost no way to brick your phone. It can be restored to it's full factory state at any time. And the only reason why their new firmware causes problems is because they utilized a whole new boatloader and it's taking us a while to crack it.
I even write my own apps and haven't had a single problem.

and hey if you want to hate it, that's fine. No skin off my back. But I definitely love it and wouldn't rather have anything else. let me just say you're missing out :P

Everything comes down to personal opinion, so as long as we agree that they have different features then thats the end. I mean, I'm not trying to make a direct comparrison between your larger emory size to my larger screen resolutio or anything of the sort - just saying that I am away of the things which can be done, and that myself i dont care for the iphone.

You yourself, dont care for the nokia.

I guess thats it then. I mean, the only reason I mentioned why I didnt liek it was because you asked, otherwise i would have just keep my stinky opinion to myself :p
