eGO Resigns Call of Duty

Statement by Artimus & eGO Council

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">eGO has decided to close our Call of Duty Division due to dwindling support from members and the CoD community. It was a tough call, with weeks of discussion at the highest levels. In the end, the difficult decision had to be made.

Each division takes a significant amount of resources to maintain the great gaming experience we want our members to have. We do our best to provide those resources for games our community is interested in playing, and even gamble with others in the hopes that we can generate some interest.

With that in mind, we will be looking to support Call of Duty: Ghosts, when it launches in mid-November, with a server and forum space. That is, if the developers follow through with their promise of dedicated servers.

We've asked DarkRaven and whoflungpooatwho to remain as Advisors while we figure out the details of how to proceed with Ghosts. All other COD leadership has been stepped down with our sincere thanks for doing their best to keep the division afloat.

Being a Battlefield guy this should make me happy, but being in eGO and having friends in all divisions it makes me sad. And besides, I've played cod in the past and enjoyed it very much. I honestly would have missed out on so many great moments if I hadn't played COD. I say if you hadn't played COD at some point you would have denied yourself a great experience! Ghosts is right around the corner right? Stay positive until then. Or join the dark side and play Battlefield >:D we've got C4 and M1911s.

Much respect

This is really sad, i join eGO for cod and now it's gone :(

Don't worry buddy, it will be fine. There's always the TF2 division to join (which you told me your interested in) or there is a chance we will be supporting CoD:Ghosts, so stick around for that. Don't hang your head too low just yet :)

I am sad to see CoD go away. This is where I met so many cool people and made a lot of friends in this Division. I hope some of you will still remain friends with me after this sad news. But I am sadden to say,I will not be gaming as I used to . With the division gone, I feel it may be my cue to leave eGO. Things have changed so much since I joined. It was a fun run, I will check in here a lot and make sure you folks who are on Facebook come find me so we don tlose touch. Love you all

Sorry to hear about this guys. Like many have said, hope you COD members find a home here in another eGO division. Good luck to everyone!

Heres to the homies!

I won't say much but Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Sorry to let everyone down. Its no one fault WE as leadership failed you, but eGO has other divisions that I would recommend looking into, just don't drink the kool-aide you will always be COD at heart. I made lots of kool ppl from eGO and I still remember the person that recruited me in the clan. I thank everyone past and present that I had to changed to meet and kill. Which I did alot of killing. I haven't made up my mind what division I will join yet. I heard they have a thing called the sun so since I am not longer leadership I can look into this.

Best Wishes

Really sorry to have COD go. I was just starting to get more active joining the events and Vent on a regular basis as I just retired in March and had more time available. I really enjoyed eGO compared to the other servers since there was almost always at least one admin on playing and there was a higher standard with no profanity and the eGO people never complained to me about how bad I was. I was just starting to get better with since all I us is my old MacBookPro and the keyboard. Had fun and will really miss the times I was able to let off a little steam by jumping online and playing a few rounds on Crossfire. Hopefully my system can run CS or DoD and I can learn one of those without too much frustration.

Thanks to all the COD leadership team who help me out these past few years and especially the past few months and all those who loved killing me or joining me in my in "strategic positions" aka camps.

I joined the CoD division in April 2008. I transferred from TF2 as an e. Though I spent some quality time in the PSC, CoD was always home.

I remember the first time we filled our TDM rotation server, which was our only one. HCTAC opened the next day, as promised. Milwaukee added a rule about wallspamming, which made everyone upset.

I remember when our CAL-O team was #2. Then CAL closed down. The team had their own culture and suddenly they were displaced. We didn't have another league for them to join.

I remember when I got promoted to Advisor, May 4 2009. Rhino was promoted at the same time. He was really excited, he freaked out. We were a big team.

I remember when the WaW box was crashing every hour because of a typo in the map rotation. It went on for a long time before someone spotted it.

I remember when I moved to WaW. I met my closest eGO friends through WaW leadership: ravens, phalanx, and unxpected. WaW was tough but we all managed to keep it going for a while.

I remember when Nuketown was ranked 38, the highest any CoD server ever reached. I remember when unxpected went 100/4 on Nuketown.

I remember when a pub in Nuketown told us he was the server owner, and he would ban us if we didn't go knife only. He told us we were babies.

I remember when WaW shut down. And when Blops1 shut down. And MW3. And when we stopped playing Blops2.

And when we stopped playing MW1. And when we shut down.

The division meant a lot more to me than I can express. It's been a part of me since I was 15. Even with all this time to emotionally prepare myself I'm still sad. We had an incredible ride but it's tough to see it end.

Ahh the days of WaW... :crying:

This is truly a tough call to make and it's a great loss to the community. Hopefully dedicated servers will launch with the release of Ghosts, but this is a sad moment indeed.
Here's to hoping for a better future for all the CoD members out there.

Ah.. it was fun

Been playing on their servers from CS:S Division. It's a good for a while I guess.

What sad news to come back to after my hospital stay. I will miss everyone I gamed with through the years, but it wasn't until recently where I started to make friends: frikfry, apple, gear, poo, raven and many more...! I hope we can pick up somewhere as soon as possible! I will miss everyone! But HEY! I hope we can still play together in other games and maybe possible COD4 sometime. I appreciate all the fun I've had in the past with everyone and these moments will be memories forever kept in the gaming part of my mind. <3 COD Division!

I know, but my pc cant COD:Ghosts XD, so i think i cant join COD division anymore :(

I'm crying on the inside right now. CoD was the division I was first joined and what first brought me to eGO. The only only silver lining me on a purely selfish note is no one had more kills than me with the P90 silencer. Good times, great times back then.

*goes off to cry in a corner*
