Gaming Headset.

I have the older version of these:

Not sure if the new version is better, but if it is at the same or more of the old I'm happy. Works with the 360 and the PC, sound is awesome when you use the amp and better than non gaming headsets when just plugged directly into the comp.

Edit: The 5.1 are not available yet, guess this is the revamp of the set I have. The 7.1 ones are in stock though.

I have been really pleased with the Steelseries siberia v2. For around 80 dollars you get a retractable mic which is handy if you want to use them for just listening to music on a bus or something. They have decent sound quality and for me the most important part- Comfort! They are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. I can leave them on my head for hours and hours with zero discomfort. For me that trumps many other factors.

There are two styles, one uses a usb dongle and has lighting effects, which I do not really care about. The negative is obvious because then you cannot really use them for many other devices.

Overall there are a few things I do not like about them. The insulation on the cord is not very great, rub it or brush against it with something and you will hear it in the left ear. I wrapped it with heatshrink rubber stuff and it pretty much took care of it. The other negative is sound quality, these headphones are not terrible but do not expect studio quality audio from them.

When it all comes down to it though the comfort level is awesome and won me over in the end.

$80 for so-so sound quality? For $80 I wouldn't expect top of the line, but very good to excellent sound at least. You can get so-so for $40 or so. So, that's a lot of sos and so-sos.

It is the best headset I've ever owned.

Good luck with your search!

Do not get these, not to put down Ichor but these are actually the worst headsets I've owned haha. I take care of everything I buy but for some reason the wires on this headset coiled up to unbearable lengths.... turning an 8 foot or so wire down to like 3 feet. I guess we just had different experiences though. The wires are pretty much ruined so I bought the Siberia V2 or whatever from steelseries.... those are nice.

I would only go razor if you're willing to spend over $100

Like I said, it was the comfort level that won me over in the end. In my experience most gaming headphones do not have great sound quality. Even 300 dollar setups. The v2's do not sound terrible nor are they amazing. They are average.

Add to the mix that most people that even have nice headphones do not have a DAC or a dedicated soundcard means that most people are only getting average sound out of what they have already whether they are 80 dollar or 300 dollar setups.

When I listen to music or movies I am either using my grado's or my dt-770's. I have yet to find a pair of gaming phones with truly accurate sound quality.

For anything under 100 dollars I would not expect anything approaching excellent sound quality.

Just my two cents.

I have the same one as Anomaly...
