I've lost my old home, COD Division,:( and am looking into other games. What is DoD like?

Thanks for your attention:P

DOD is the greatest game ever invented by the hands of God of himself.

More seriously it is a WWII FPS. Similar to COD in the fast pace kind of way depending on your map size. Usually maps deal with a capture the flag game mode but there are other maps that deal with planting bombs or defending areas from bombs depending on what time you join. It is hours of addictive game play. I have been playing on and off for about ten years now. I suggest it. You can catch on pretty easily coming COD and once you know the spots on maps you can get really good. Join us in Vent for absurd banter and trash talk!

Join us in vent! NJ is right, DOD and COD are similar. Maps are a little smaller, 6 classes to choose from (rifle, assault, support, Sniper, MG, Rocket). All eGO maps are capture the flag. Team wins by holding all flags at the same time. All servers except one are no Friendly Fire. You should catch on fast and everyone will give you tips. If you play off hours Avalanche and Donner are usually the most filled servers, Kalt and Anzio (friendly fire on the smallest map, real fast paced) are more prime time. Avoid Strand like the plague:p J/k on the last, but it is a confusing map and not recommended for beginners.

Beginner tips, assault is the easiest class to start with, although if you were a good rifler in COD you should be fine in DOD with rifle class. Grenades explode 5 secs after pulling the pin even if you are holding them, and can be picked up and thrown back at an enemy. Generally do not use ironsights. Crouch or prone for less recoil. You can sprint in short bursts and pick up weapons from your teammates or the enemy.

Since you are a G, make sure to get a maul pin and set up your admin (see an Advisor or admin trainer for help). Take admin 101 class. Welcome.

Welcome to DoD, fellow COD refugee. :)
I think you will find DoD very similar to COD, and with MORE maps to play on!

Wewo is spot on, except for the fact that the strand server is a bomb map. As the allies you have to set C4 on key points on the map, and the axis have to prevent that, or defuse them when you do.

Other than that, go with what he said. Start with the assault class, unless you feel you have good rhythm with the rifle class. We can give you more tips if you join us in Vent.

its a great game with hardships you wont find in any other game you will have you highs and u will have you lows the guns take a bit to get use to its fun to learn and to get great at the game types are simple put ctf(capture the flag) a game type where u plant bombs as a attacking team and the defending team stops the plants other than that its a great game for the price u cant go wrong

Opps, forgot about that. On Strand the goal is for the allies to make it up the beach, bomb their way in and then bomb all the objectives on the axis side. It takes two bombs to blow up each objective.

Welcome! add a bunch of us on steam, and we will and can answer any questions you may have!

DoD:S is a relatively fast-paced game like CoD, just stripped of all the bells and whistles. If you have a general understanding of FPS games, you'll quickly pick up the gameplay here.

Like CoD :
- remember the maps
- use your flanks
- be unpredictable
- rush, rush, rush!

Join Donner for a big map or Kalt / Avalanche for smaller ones!
See you there!
