How to act in the server

I started off playing in the EgO server's mad as hell, always talking smack to everyone and getting angry at the game. Recently I've been able to control myself in the game a little better, I usually ignore most people's chat and just play. I'd say I play with a lot of intensity and sometimes that comes out in my words. So if your in the server and you see me flying off the handle kindly remind me that I do represent something larger than just myself.

I do enjoy being a part of this organization, like playing in the servers, and enjoy interacting with the people. One thing I can say is I'm young and make rash decisions and put my foot in my mouth sometimes. Also I just gave up heavy drinking of alcohol one week ago today. This too is contributing to my edginess.

Thanks for reading.

Hang in there, remember to remind yourself when you are getting angry, that it is a game, and should be fun... If it is not, sometimes it helps to go to spec for a minute, get up... walk around the house, go outside and breathe deep.

Hale, with all the time of recent I have played with you on Ava, I have never seen what you described above. If your like me, you probably swear ALOT while playing, just not on mic. Sometimes I get so riled up... I'll just say my kids know more swear words and combinations of them then they should..lol. Composure can be easily lost, and sometimes a rage quit can be somewhat satisfying if the situation demands it. Come on... we ALL have done it.

" I do represent something larger than just myself " <----- I love seeing members get the big picture.

Hale, as always, I look forward to our next bloody encounter on Ava.

You aren't the only one that started angry. That's why I am where I am today. 4 Years of eGO and still an e. I was just like you. eGO taught me you don't need to swear at everything that happens and just have it as it is.

Hale I have not played with you yet but yes even me but most ppl probly never notice has had a hot headed day and just get upset at everything but I too just simply take a break step back and remind myself I play DoD:s for fun and I should not get this mad just because I am doing horrible. So yes if you feel a sudden urge to rage just sit in spec or get out of game go do something else for a few minutes and return it can make all the difference and I have noticed myself I find I am doing less raging and having more fun. And I hope you understand that if we do for some reason ask you to calm down that you will know we mean it in a caring way and not just saying it because we can. Who knows you may get that G in the near future just show us the true you and show you like having fun and most importantly show us you can be an active member in all aspects of eGO. And good luck with the drinking and remember if you need someone to talk to as well for any reason I am sure most members here will listen and help.

Hale, this is very mature of you to realize your own behavior. Hats off to you! (Sorry, been playing TF2 a little too much recently.)

Like other have said, if the game starts getting under your skin, it's time to take a break. When this happens to me, I prefer to walk outside and kick the neighbor's cat. (J/K!! Oh, I'm gonna get a beating if Apple ever reads this! LOL!)

I'm not a very good player on any of our games, and I keep that in mind when I get my butt handed to me. I just keep plugging along and know that I have learned each time what NOT to do.

And congratulations on cutting back on the drinking. I believe you will find this one of the best decisions you can make in the long run. If you need to talk, we are here to listen. I'm sure you are not alone in the temper/drinking department.

Excellent! Dont hesitate to bring anything up if you need to... as you can see, we are a very understanding lot! :thumbup1:

Glad to hear it man if you cant talk to us on steam there is always a friendly face in vent that can hop into a channel and talk. good luck

I never talk in game because I am always angry no matter what. I cannot remember the last time I played on eGO, or any other server, when I was calm. I am always angry and I hate this game. Seriously, this is the worst game ever made and it is definitely not good for your nerves. I almost broke my headset because I threw it across the room. Threw my mousepad before also. I should start recording myself in vent more often to hear how I sound like. People say "it is just a game". Not for me, it is more than a game, it is a torture experiment.

I myself used to act like that, but now all I do is just laugh about it and not let it get to me, and just try to have a good time since its just a game

I enjoy a bit of competitive smack talking. To me it adds a bit of friendly competition. Ask Whoppers. Him and I will go back and forth trying to push each ourselves to outdo one another.
