Has anyone here had a chance to play yet? I'm getting to play for the first time and apparently its completely different???
So umm... Terraria 1.2?

First time playing 1.2 or Terraria in general? I mean, if you haven't played the game to begin with it's still a whole new game for you. 
They added a lot of neat stuff both early and late game. There's a lot of alternatives you can do, for instance, you have lead and iron that are both the same, but you can pick either one for your craftables. Same goes for a number of other tiers as well.
Quite a few new biomes. Snow one is a big new thing and makes spelunking the caves different. New monsters, new weapons, new items, new everything. New bosses both early and end game. Ton of awesome end game weapons. Accessory crafting went nuts IMO. You can combine so many accessories together now to make even better ones. And of course a ton of new vanity items and other stuff for your house/castle/building/thing making.
It's fun again. At least until you get through it all again.
