I thought it was only mg. Anyway, strand was dying before they made the change. The fact that everyone is blaming strand losing players due to the mg change is a false accusation.
This is 100% correct. The server was growing increasingly harder and harder to start. Whether the normal avid fans of that map have just been absent, or just lost interest, I dont know.
What happens, is that one person joins axis, one joins allies. the next 2 join axis. now its 3 versus 1, with 2 snipers and an MG. Cant even take one step on the beach, much less try to get off of it. I watched 5 people join, get shot 3 times then leave. It was really, really hard to get it going. Now, the theory is that once you get a handful of people, the weapon restrictions go away. This change is all about getting the server started, not keeping it going. Once people join the weapons are normal.
The simple fact is that we are trying different things to help the server, instead of just watching it decay and fade away. Like it or not, that IS what is happening.
We even have an hour dedicated on wednesday night to help populate the server as an event.
It is a desperate attempt to help. If you have other ideas, other than just changing it back to what wasnt working, Im sure it wont fall on deaf ears.
Thanks,
