There are several definitions of the word community, ranging from "a group of people who have the same interests, religion, race, etc." to "a group linked by a common policy" to "a body of persons or nations having a common history or common social, economic, and political interests," but there's more to the true meaning of community than what a dictionary can properly provide in my mind. This community, eGO, is one which has drawn us all in for varying personal reasons, but I believe we all came for at least one reason which is held in common: to play games with people we enjoy spending virtual time with and to play in a place which promotes respect, equality regardless of skill and friendship among members.

There are many here within our various division who really, truly embody the things which make eGO great (such as being friendly to others, playing simply for the love of the game and the company of those they play with, etc). These are the things which make eGO such a fine organization to belong to and are the things which have kept me here for close to 4 and a half years. Yet... I have not really displayed much sense of "community" in these recent days. I have not tried to develop much closeness with you, my fellow clanmates and TF2 Div members. I have been here, part of this organization, but not as involved as I once was. This is something I mean to remedy. I mean to be a bit more talkative and outgoing. I've found that lately I dwell on servers but don't interact much, whether it be with my fellow EdgeGamers or with the pubs we have frequenting our servers. I hope, very much, to develop meaningful friendships with those of you with whom I have barely talked and hope to develop those friendships which I have begun so people can honestly say they know who I am and not just another random guy running around the servers with eGO tags. I look forward to getting to know you guys better and hope to move forward as a more involved member upon each and every one of you knows you can rely.

I look forward to getting to know you better as well! :) Great speech by the way :p

Sounds good man. Playing with people you know is sooooo much more fun. It is easy to stay passive but you are right- you get a lot more mileage out of the clan as a whole if you invest socially, mentally, psychically...

Hi :D

So.....does this count as a member returning?

Hey man its alright! Everyone goes through cycles like this with a team, especially with video games. It was nice briefly talking to you on Egypt today, it was really one of the first times someone has been like "hey Dr J" out of nowhere which felt relate-able to what you're saying with this post. Hope to see you again soon Tomain!

Wow, those were rapid replies! Thanks for checking the post, everyone. :D I look forward to playing with you guys again, and soon! Oh, and Honorbound, sort of. I guess... the spirit of returning. I've been back for a while though.

I always like getting to know other admins better, hope to do the same with you ^^

Getting to know the other members here is definitely something I've enjoyed so far. It makes playing much better imo. You can always defeat others without knowing them, but what's the fun in frustrating a stranger when you can kill your friends! Oh wait... :P
Well anyways I look forward to getting to know you better, ya know, since I've only just met you. ;)

Sounds great! And you can definitely get to know many of the crazy and fun personalities we have at the events. :D

Virtual time is great. Much better then that real time garbage.

.....How much does your laptop cost?

I understand theres a joke about this, as I've seen this quite a few times on the forums. But I suppose I am going to have to start a new one and ask to you, Tomain,

Why do people always ask you how much your laptop costs?

I'm feeling too lazy to find the forum but after some digging I found out why. Once upon a time, a member who's name I can't remember returned...Upon his return it was revealed that he had bought a (what was it exactly 15,000 is what I remember) $15,000 laptop. And so, now it's become a joke to see if anybody bought insanely expensive laptops while away.

Anyway, I'm really one of those guys that loves to get to know everyone. I'll almost always say hi to everyone in the server I join :P Although, Panda is the only person I've really gotten to know so far, I plan to learn more about everyone when I'm able to start attending events. I have learned some of the jokes from forums such as Kazoo's crit powers.
