I do believe this was discussed when MvM first came out. I don't quite remember the specifics of why it was rejected, but I think it was something along the lines of it not being able to support itself financially.
I personally would like to see something like this, though.
I cannot remember what answers were given back then (and I was still an O when MVM came out). But here are reasons why I see an MVM server wouldn't work out (not including financially).
If it was a public eGO server.
1. Only six people can play at a time, and the group may hog the server.
2. The server may be frequently empty or used by pubs when members want to play on it.
3. Admining would need to take priority over winning the MVM game. So even if you're on the last round, if a player breaks the rule, it needs to be addressed.
If it was a private eGO server.
1. Again, only six people can play at a time.
2. Despite it being private, the password would most likely go out and be given to a friend of a friend of a friend. (This happened with some of our member's private MVM servers.)
3. Server would stay empty until a group of members gets on.
4. Again, admining would need to take priority. Rules can never be broken on our servers, even by members. And when a member breaks the rule, it's a straight kick. (If it's an admin that breaks the rule, then leadership will be involved.)
Really, the biggie is admining. But if anyone wants to discuss this more or has an idea on how these can be addressed, post in the Dropbox, and we can continue the discussion there.
I say we cut Hightower and Valve Maps!
