I think we need a Ping limit of atleast 170 b/c the higher ping players take the more connection from the server causing the server to lag and likely eventually crash. The servers run just like in BF3 servers did...

I voted no because I know we have some guys in eGO who due to where they live will give them a high ping and I don't want to make it so they can't play, it's not fair.

Just wanted to point out that eGO does NOT kick or limit our servers based on player(s) ping.

I voted no, because Sometimes my ping reaches 300 and Ping doesn't actually make anybody lag except for that player... The only downside to high ping is when people know how to abuse it and exploit it.

no because of reasons stated above. if your ping shoots up because your connection has a small hickup you dont want to be kicked out for that.

It is pretty much impossible for one single player to lag a server, it actually places the player at a disadvantage if his/her ping is higher.

It really does not matter anyhow, Frostbite has been plagued with a horrible flaw that needs attention. What currently mainly plagues Frostbite is that the server only communicates with a player's client 10 times per second.

This is a huge issue, if you were to experience a lag spike or cpu spike it would dsync hitboxes to the point where you might find yourself shooting at a player that has his hitboxes say about five feet behind him/her. That can sometimes give the illusion that you either missed or that the player might be cheating when in fact you actually hit the enemy soldier.

Games like counter-strike do not face this issue for they report data between clients and server 100 times per second lessening the chance of desynchronization.

Hopefully this clears up some common misconceptions.

As for my take on kicking players with a high ping I strongly disagree, it is unfair for players with high ping as is.

No, I agree with this and the other statements, like Battlefield and a couple others said, ping only affects the person with the high ping not the server or other players. If other players are lagging, it's their internet or machine causing them to lag not someone with 200+ ping. Also as said before me, it wouldn't be fair for someone living in a different country than the server to get kicked solely based on high ping

I agree

Cap on ping at 170ms is very reasonable, I joined the server but got rubberbanded around so much.

Voted no.

Nobody is rubberbanding because of a few players with 400 ping. I can't get into it right here, but the internet doesn't work like that.

The people with high ping don't affect the server and already have enough trouble as it is.
