Steam losing connection

Is it just me or has anyone else been having an issue with their Steam account being temporarily disconnected? Ive been having this issue for id say the last week now. It says "Could not connect to the Steam network." yet I can stream music & do stuff like check this forum, but usually in the afternoon I have issues with not being able to connect with them. Last time, I just simply restarted the signal w/ my router & that fixed it, but this time it didnt work. By the way, I just had to restart my computer because it was stuck when I got home, so I know it doesnt need that.

Any ideas?

It's common for everyone. Valve has most likely been doing some extensive testing on Steam either for a new release (like when Steam machines hit), The Big Picture beta, etc. I've noticed almost every time my Steam has disconnected, an update was released.
