Hope I don't get banned for posting this in the wrong place, but I just wanted to check in after a long absence to say hello to all you fine folks, both new & old ;)... was nice playing with a few of you today.

Finally bought a GTX 770 as recommended by a *supposed* techie buddy specifically so that I could play BF4 and now I'm getting a fabulous 20-30 FPS, rubber-banding, and all kinds of other glitches, freezes, etc. Add to that my immense suckiness, and it's obvious I've got much fun to look forward to :facewall:. Nonetheless, I'm determined to get this game working properly and will hang in there.... Hope to see ya'll on the battlefield soon!

P.S. I noticed a few of you with eGo dog tags today... is that something any member can get? or just you eGo old-timers? How does one go about getting one?

Welcome back I'm fairly new here, well since December but it is always great to see new/old players come to join us here. Maybe your pc has a bottleneck somewhere? Thinking with a gtx 770 you should be pretty solid. Running a single gtx 660ti and the game setting on high with fps well over 60. Took me a while of getting my machine running the way I wanted hopefully you'll get yours going. You can usually find me online so hop on in and get some.

I unfortunately still have my GTX 770 and I have the same exact issues you have. i have been working on this for three months. If you find a solution, please PM me!

Yeah I've got a gtx 770 and its working pretty well I had a few issues to start but it seems alright now, and good to see you back Scott :)

Thanks for the good tidings guys....

Good to hear Dib, at least now I know my efforts to get my GPU & game settings dialed in should not be in vain. I spent a lot of time today experimenting and I have made some progress. Played tonight for a few hours, er, I should say, I died a ton, but it was pretty fun.

Orbofdeath & Rizzo, I'm sending friend requests.... will be on lots more for the foreseeable future so hope to cross paths with ya in-game sooner rather than later.

Onward!

Any member can get them, just have to be seen/noticed. Comes with time, like being in game, team speak and active on the forums....

Welcome back & hope you get the issues fixed!!!

I'm getting a fabulous 20-30 FPS,
What? that isnt right.
What can you please post your video setting in BF4?
Im running gtx 780, I capped mine at 75 FPS. It rarely dips.

Thanks Slash. To clarify, I was talking about the in-game icon that appears to the person you just killed... the blue star with eGo embedded.... think I figured it out; it's via the eGo platoon on Battlelog

Thanks Wizekraker; I've gotta run to an appointment but I'll be back shortly. I'll prob be on TS a lot today; maybe chat about my settings there?

Ok sounds good.
My only concern is it maybe the CPU. What type of CPU do you have?
Or it maybe the problem with the OS, windows 7 and battlefield 4 doesn't really work well together.

When I played BF4 in beta my god it was horrendous. I was getting 20-30 FPS. However, once Installed Windows 8 my fps was running around 80-100FPS. Since release the change maybe not that drastic, but you can definitely except performance boost with windows 8.

Hey Wizekraker,

Yeah, after a bit of forum perusing and googling, I pretty much concluded the same... basically, my rig is at or near its end of life for high-end gaming. Here are my basic specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2400 MHz

Chipset: nVidia nForce 680i SLI

Memory: 8192 MBytes @ 399 MHz
4 sticks of 2048 MB PC6400 DDR2-SDRAM

Graphics: EVGA e-GeForce GTX 770
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770, 2048 MB GDDR5 SDRAM
HDrive: WDC WD2002FAEX-007BA0, 1953.5 GB, Serial ATA 6Gb/s @ 3Gb/s

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)

The thing is, there are times when game play is pretty smooth, even with full servers. And for some reason, the BF4 auto-settings go to Ultra, while nVidea's Geforce Experience app (I've since removed) tells me to put my settings on Low. I've tried all variations and there doesn't seem to be any correlation to Video Settings and FPS... sometimes Ultra settings actually play better than the Low settings; while other times it's vice-versa. WTF! LOL :cursing:

Need to figure out if it's just my settings or if I should try Win8, new MOBO, or Chipset, or all of the above... or just forget about trying to upgrade at all. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I wouldn't go with windows 8, if your motherboard is compatible go with a i5k.

This is my set up and it runs smooth but I put it together maybe summer of last year?

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Gaming graphics 4096 MB Total available graphics memory

I wouldn't go with windows 8

Care tell me why windows 8 is bad advice?
If it is metro that can be solved and his motherboard doesn't support i5.

Yeah you may have to get new mobo and cpu that should fix the problem.
If that doesn't completely work windows 8 should fix it, but I don't think it will be necessary.

Just personal preference on the OS. Should of clarified that on my post. Whichever OS floats your boat. I wasn't pushing any software or hardware on anyone just posting my specs and giving my 2 cents. He stated that he wanted option and opinions so I gave him some.

Fair enough.

From past experience that 680I MB is junk, I ran one and had nothing but trouble with it, changed it and my issues were fixed on half the games I own, though I have to admit that was over 5 years ago

I still haven't updated to Windows 8 from 7 because I heard there are still a lot of compatibility issues with games.
