You heard it ladies and gentlemen, you can get good at Pyro in the Official Hat Simulator!

Airblast
pllllzzzzzzz
In all seriousness, you NEED to put out teammates.
It is also very useful when knocking back enemies whether it's an uber, rocket jumping as pyro (ask me about this later), airblasting stickies into the demoman, etc.

Shotgun
This is your only ranged weapon, so use it well. You can go with the shotgun, but if you're good with airblasting, I suggest going with the reserve shooter, as you can get that minicrit which can do LOADS of damage!

Flare Gun, Detonator, or Scorch shot
Mostly all the same weapon to me. if you're good at aiming, I would vote flare gun since you can get that crit. If you're bad at aiming, go scorch shot. I don't know very many uses for detonator except jumping to new locations and such, sooooo...

Primary
Probably should've done this first, but whatever...
You're probably gonna be using stock unless you have a couple reasons to use the others.
- Use backburner if you plan on being sneaky like a spy or if you're doing payload and you want to take everyone out while they're pushing.
- Use Degreaser if you're doing an axtinguisher or reserve shooter combo (or both!)
- Phlogistinator is pretty nice. Best to use if you know you can get a fair amount of damage when using it or shooting your secondary (if it is a fire weapon). Best to activate when taking out many enemies as you soar to full health and can do insane amounts of damage
- Rainblower: A little bit OP, would suggest not using this one

Melee
- Axtinguisher or Postal Pummeler: Probably the main one you'll use. It's pretty much an insta-kill if you've already lit the person on fire.
- Homewrecker is a little bit more difficult. Best if you're guarding an engineer. Otherwise, pretty much no use (unless you're getting ubered and you're gonna use that "double damage vs. enemy buildings" o_O
- Powerjack: This is one you want to use if you're being sneaky. You have a 20% increase in damage vulnerability, but you can move faster ( to get behind lines), and get 75 hp on kill, allowing to even get an overheal. Best to use when they aren't paying attention so you can get the 75hp without risking your life with the increased damage you take.
- Back Scratcher: Use if your team sucks and you have no medic/dispenser or you plan on being away from all those people (probably behind enemy lines). You also deal a bit more damage, but mainly can take advantage of all the health packs.
- Third Degree: I don't ever use this. If you really think you can do some damage by hitting the heavy and hopefully kill the medic, but it's unlikely...
- Neon Annihilator: Not that great unless theres a lot of water on the map. Nice if you're protecting a sentry in water I guess (since it removes sappers too).

Basics
Overall, you are a bit similar to spy, as you don't often want to go to enemies directly (even though we always do). You have a very short range and your shotgun won't cut it. Try to ambush and take advantage of airblasts to keep enemies going the way you want them to.

Rocket Jumping
Tell me if you want a tutorial for this one. I enjoy "pyro market gardening" aka Rocket jump + Scorch shot in mid air + axtinguisher on ground = almost instant kill. Pretty difficult and I don't know how often it'll be used though...

Thank you guys for all the support! Only a bit left: Scout, Heavy, Engineer, and Sniper! (I think). Stay tuned, although I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I really hope I can still get these out to you.

I love using Scorch Shot on Payload and CP maps when the other team is pushing/capping. It doesn't do a ton of damage and sadly lacks any kind of critting when on fire, but the knockback and huge splash is awesome and annoying. I love using it just because of that.

The Rainblower is a reskin of the vanilla Flamethrower.

Ahem.... Please do not insult the spy... he is nothing like pyro :|
*Sorry spy he did not mean to say that

No offense to pyro... but i do not like that class a lot :P
Anyways nice guide :P

Sorry to disappoint you, but they are a lot like each other.
Firstly, as a Spy, your main point is to get the kills on important parts of the team, to destablize the enemies. Pyros, similarly, take out a portion of the enemies out, therefore making their team destablize as well.
Secondly, as a Spy, you have a way to save yourself from your enemies. Cloaking and Disguising. Pyros have Airblasts.
Finally, I play both a lot, and I'm considered a main target for some people... So yeah. This means that their strategies are alike.

Shotgun
This is your only ranged weapon, so use it well.
wut? This is like, blasphemy. Flare gun OP. See below.
Flare Gun, Detonator, or Scorch shot
Mostly all the same weapon to me.
If you're going to be a serious pyro, or if you even want to get kills, you need to aim. Flare lets you give up your humanity to get inhumane crits. You can easily just have a scout barely tip your flamethrower's flame and then flare him, and just walk away nonchalantly while the afterburn slowly drains his life as he desperately tries to kill you before he dies.

Detonator is a less lethal flare gun. That's only its surface use. The detonator is critical for positioning, like getting you in place for a good ambush. maybe you can even use it for a derpy form of pyro MG'ing (Det, Deg+axt on landing)

I really don't use scorch much because I don't see any use in it. I may be wrong and proven wrong, but it seems very situational.
You're probably gonna be using stock unless you have a couple reasons to use the others.
Eh? Pyro is most deadly when making use of combos, for which the degreaser is necessary. With the stock you're considerably slower with the kills, and are encouraged to w+m1 more. While it's a alright tactic sometimes, there's a reason people consider it noobish. It's predictable, you're fairly blind if the enemy is leading you somewhere, and you're an easy target.
- Rainblower: A little bit OP, would suggest not using this one
Wait, what? Please explain this.

You're good on the melees. The basics, too, except for one thing: pyro has many more uses than just ambushing. There's the pybro, the airblaster, the spychecker, the guardian. all these can be done with minor changes to your loadout.
Rocket Jumping
That's MLG pro elite untouchable bot hacker stuff.

No :P But okay ;)
Spai cannot be compared

I love the rainblower so very much. Not for any practical or tactical use, it just makes me happy. ^_^

My bad. I did point out the others down below. Probably should of just titled it "secondary" but whatever...

Mentioned this already too.

But if you don't know what you're doing, just stick with stock. Like I said, if you don't have any good reason to go a certain weapon in mind, just go stock as you'll be safer that way. A lot of the weapons are similar anyway. Degreaser is basically the same but less damage, Backburner actually DISCOURAGES airblasts, and other weapons can't airblast.

Wait, what? Please explain this.
It was a joke. Rainblower is exactly the same as stock :P

That's MLG pro elite untouchable bot hacker stuff.
Oh yeah, I'm totally a hacker. You better ban me soon :3

Thank you for saying so. I always use the Detonator. I find it to be the best poking weapon. I love to use it to jump behind enemy lines and ambush them.

It's really a good weapon.

The War Rabb Pyro Combo for Ultimate Dominance

Backburner (must be renamed "Skill" and be a strange variant with at least 2+ kill counters one must be Heavies Killed)

RS (also must be strange variant preferably with pyros/scouts killed)

Homewrecker (Strange variant again with sappers broken or whatever its called)

Proceed to dominate entire map and get called noob but don't worry because you're dominating half the other team.

I know. Stock is ok too.
Lol you just screwed it over here:

Sorry, I was just confused, we're good now :P
