Ad playing on server followed by game error

Every time I join the Italy or Dust 2 servers and join a team an advertisement starts playing. After the ad finishes my game has an error and closes itself. I don't have this problem on any other servers - only when joining the eGO ones.

Any ideas what could be causing this or what I can do to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

As per RedDragonKnight,

Disable HTML MOTDs. Its the best work aroung until something changes.

Open CSS, go to Options, Multiplayer Tab, Advanced, Check 'Disable HTML MOTDs" OK OK.

Usually corrects the problem.

I think this needs to be looked at asap. the bottom line is if ppl have to do something extra with settings just to play on the server and I would say the majority will not come to the forums like I did, they will just play somewhere else. I was thinking it was a problem with my cs so i uninstalled, then I saw this post. I'm posting here because I like playing on your servers, and usually during prime time its full and both office and italy servers are dead.

I was having this problem as well, disabling the HTML MOTD should rectify the problem. I believe its from the recent update from steam.

if you dont wanna disable motd (to read jail rules if ur on the jail server, for instance) then just type !motd whne u enter the server and the ad will stop playing.

its pretty annoying tho.
