Config Files for Each Player Class

To help mitigate some of the "registration" issues some of us have been having, I created separate .cfg files designed for each player class to maximize your hit reg. Bottom line, different interp values work better for certain player classes and there is an easy way to change between these values in game without too much work on your end.

Instructions
1) Download the four different .cfg files (click the down arrow in the google page):
Sniper config: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0XoDGGXDF2JRDZRV3dTVmVNQkE/edit?usp=sharing
Auto (support/assault) config: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0XoDGGXDF2JR2N1c2FGeTg5UXM/edit?usp=sharing
Garand config: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0XoDGGXDF2JTTZuajJJdEFVU28/edit?usp=sharing
K98 config: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0XoDGGXDF2JOUVqWDBoYy1MX2M/edit?usp=sharing

2) Place these four files in your dod/cfg folder located:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\cfg

3) To use files, you must be out of the server or in spectate mode. To activate a config, simply open your console (default key is ~, if your console is disabled go to options -> keyboard, click advanced, and tick 'enable developer console') and type "exec sniper.cfg" or "exec garand.cfg" or "exec k98.cfg" or "exec auto.cfg". Obviously only execute the config that you plan on using. If you switch to a different class, go to spectate and exec your intended next class's config.

Any rate-based settings in these configs will override the settings in your autoexec.cfg. This will not override your maul pin, sound, video, mouse, or keyboard settings. These files are meant for players with less than an average of 100ms ping. Let me know if you would like help with any of your config files as I can recommend some advanced rate settings.

Hope this helps,

Ruf

A lot of custom settings also depend on your connection to the server. So not all cut and paste configurations will be the same for everyone. So tweak and test out. Seeing what works with your own eyes will always be better then what people tell you :P

Seems like you switched around the garand and k98 rufio :)

Still awesome.

Which is why I said these rates are meant for players with less than 100 ping. Implied is that you are not using a 56k modem as well. The update/cmd and rate settings in these configs are a little irrelevant considering our servers force a minimum of 66/66 and 100000 anyway. The only difference between the config files are the interp valuess. In general, players with less than 100ms ping, have good registration with the garand at 100 ms interp, 10 ms interp for the k98, 50 ms for the autos, and 33 ms with the sniper rifles. Obviously you should tweak your own settings if you are comfortable with editing config files, but this is meant for players who want an easy fix without too much tampering :P
