Well, knowing someone that plays for C9, they are going in with trying to gain as much knowledge of areas around the world as much as possible. They know they can't perform to their max expectations due to obvious reasons with their roster. C9 against FNC was a good game and an example of how close the EU and NA regions are.
Playing against the Koreans... you can see how far more superior they are but also how this could be a huge momentum boost for a team that was struggling during the OGN season.
I feel this event may hurt Fanatic a bit if they don't pick up any wins. The EU scene during the summer split will be an interesting one (as always) as they seem to have some issues with teams not as much as NA though.
For the NA side, this event could be showing how we are growing within the LoL scene. The thing that most teams are glad about when a team goes off to represent them is the information that the traveling team will pick up so that the rest of the region can learn off of them. We all know during the summer split that the NA scene will be extremely strong and a majority of the teams look really good! It's gonna be a toss up I think for 2nd and 3rd while I expect C9 to continue their dominance with 1st.
I am extremely excited that OMG is playing in the All-stars tournament as they have one of my favorite mid players in league (xiyang) who pulls off spectacular plays. It's also a great way for people to see what an LPL team is and how aggressive the Chinese scene can be with their play styles. Similar to what people thought LMQ was gonna be like when they came to NA.
Overall, I think this tournament is awesome. It gives teams a chance to look at international regions and help them improve for worlds. The only way the scene will grow is working together to put great competitions such as this for the world to see. It always helps weak regions grow so that the "big dogs" can play against fun and challenging teams instead of for example C9 destroying NA.
