Hey guys. I want to thank the leaders of EGO for a great informative meeting last night. I knew EGO kicks major butt.. but had NO IDEA just how HUGE EGO is.. and is about to be even MORE HUGE =). Wow.. that's impressive!!! I'm glad to be part of the next BIG THING in gaming.
Also, last night during the meeting a fellow clan member spoke and had some of the same thoughts I did. Sorry bro.. I didn't get or remember your name... but he's a musician and planning to do a recital I think in BC and was wanting to dedicate and "simul-cast" the performance on Vent. Awesome!!! Very cool. I was actually thinking of working on a "theme song" once I had my Digital WorkStation finally setup and ready (if I can get off TF2 for a bit I MIGHT get that done ;-). I remember back in the days of TeamFortress (on QuakeWorld).. many servers had "theme songs" that played when you joined. I didnt' know if Tf2 can do that.. but if it can.. maybe a theme song could be added to the EGO servers.
But apparently I'm not the only musical type in the clan.. many apparently are gifted musicians as well... perhaps we can setup some remote sessions over the web and write and perform some material for EGO.. maybe even use it on a server or two.. and maybe make a "compilation" CD or something for the clan.
Anyways, if any of you have time and are interested.. go ahead and post here.. tell us what instrument you play and what equipment/daw setup you have to allow for remote sessions/recording.
I play guitar and bass (a little bass anyways =-), and ue Sonar 7 PE for recording... though I also have Reaper (great program for almost free) and Cubase SX3. I have 3 UAD1's in my DAW with nearly all the plugins authorized. I use BFD/XFL for drums.. and use a Tonelab and POD XT for shredding guitar tones.
I've been a little lazy in the music dept last few months (thank TF2 and EGO for that LOL!!!), but I think this project might be a good thing to get me off my butt =)
PS: We could use either Digital Musician net for exchange or even just send mp3/wave files back and forth to work the projects out.
Thanks EGO!!
