Over the past year, our Ventrilo/Teamspeak channels have been veering away from what they are meant to be. I aim to try to correct this.
Remember, our Code of Conduct is not ONLY for our servers, but for our voice communication servers as well, and we have gotten away from this somewhere, somehow.
Last night, Megs had brought up a point of stopping altogether, talking about homosexuality, or severe disrespect of other members in the channel. These are only 2 of the examples. I don't think a whole list is needed, but here is what I propose-
If you can't say it or talk about it in the game servers, that remains the same for Teamspeak channels
That's it. Simple enough.
Now don't think that I am speaking down from some high horse, I am well aware that I too have slacked off in my behavior in Teamspeak, but I will be doubling my efforts to correct these habits, so that all can feel welcome and not scared away by raucous disrespective foul mouthed behavior.
Room 6 will be the only exception, and ONLY room 6. But that doess't mean that you can say whatever you want, it only means that you can curse in there. But the same goes, if you cant say it in the servers, don't say it in Teamspeak.
We need to get back to the way it used to be, the way it is intended, and the way that it NEEDS to be, for us to still be a great division in eGO.
I haven't decided yet if I will be enforcing the w/k/b procedures within Teamspeak, but I am leaning towards yes, at least until we get it under control.
