Hot dogs and hot dog buns

So I was at Ralphs (a southern California supermarket chain) today buying hot dogs and hot dog buns, when I realize all the hot dogs come in packs of 10 and hot dog buns come in packs of 8. So now I'm wondering why do hot dogs come in packs of 10 and hot dog buns come in packs of 8? Are they trying to force us to buy 4 packs of dogs and 5 packs of buns making it 40 each? Do they expect us to drop 2 dogs on the floor? Or do they somehow expect us to eat 2 of the dogs without buns? Just thought I throw it out there.

That's almost a direct quote from the movie True Stories back in 1986. It's one of my favorite offbeat films.

[blockquote]Miss Rollings: It's like how hot dogs come in packs of 10, and buns come in packs of eight or 12 - you have to buy nine packs to make it come out even. [/blockquote]

Personally, one of my favorite moments in the film is inspired by the Church of the Subgenius. It's about conspiracy theories.

i think they do that for people with dogs, or small children

make ur dogs for the bbq and throw the last 2 at your kids and tell em to go back inside :-p

That's also from Animaniacs. There's an actual answer for it, but I can't remember what it is...

Also do vegetarians have any moral objections in eating animal crackers?

Furthermore, you see in commercials about companies giving out free gifts when you buy something. Isn't a gift suppose to be free?

Finally, what does the saying "I thought to myself" really mean? Can you think to someone else?

Btw, possibly serving cake tonight in dustbowl server.

I bet that cake is a lie!

You can think to others, by telling them what you're thinking, and maybe describing your train of thought.

I'm sure they're fine with animal crackers, given that they only moderately resemble animals and are not made of actual animal products.

Did you steal this from the good old everyone knows monk style quotes anyways the answer is Because life is not equal

No, I did not steal these from anywhere. Maybe I've heard them before and are stored in my sub-concious. I don't know.

About animal crackers: Um, they don't taste like animals - at least none that I've ever eaten. I was (and still am) really disappointed about that.

And here's a quote that'll make your day about candy corn from Lewis Black:

"But nothing proves just how dumb we are collectively, as a people. Nothing proves it more than Candy Corn. Candy Corn... using the word candy to describe it is wrong. Using the word corn is wrong. It does not taste like candy nor corn. It tastes like something that was made out of oil. You take all of the bags of candy corn and actually, if you melted them down, you could run a car. It is one of the s****iest tastes I've ever had in my mouth. All of the candy corn that was ever made, was made in 1914. They never had to make it again. We never eat enough of it. We only eat 2 or 3 or 4 pieces a piece. And so, literally after Halloween, the Candy Corn companies send out their minions... a word I've never really had the opportunity to use... and they go from garbage can to garbage can and collect the corn, and throw it back in the bags, and it appears next year. I will never forget the first time my mother gave me candy corn. She said, 'Lewis, this is corn, and it tastes like candy.' 'Oh Boy! This tastes like s***! My mother is f*****g with me.' So I grabbed another, and it tasted like s***, too. And every year since then Halloween returns, and I, like an Alzheimer's patient, find myself in a room, and there's a table and on that table there's a bowl filled with candy corn for no apparent reason. And I look at it, and even though I've seen it over and over and over again, it is as if I'm seeing it for the first time. 'Candy corn,' I think. 'Corn, that tastes like candy. God I can't wait.' SONOFABITCH! And then I grab another, and I eat just the yellow part, believing somehow that's the corn part. And then I take two more pieces, and I shove them on my front teeth like this... ARRAWRRAWRR... and I am Dracula. That is why when this Halloween will come, and those of you who are parents, and know... absolutely know that this candy tastes like s***, will give it to your children. and so it goes, from generation to generation to generation... we the people, pass on a legacy of s***. And then you wonder why we can't elect a good leader."

LOLOLOLOL, hilarious Stoooopid. I personally don't know why anyone would like black licorice myself. That stuff tastes horrible people! !ill

Booster, how do you know your the only left handed black Canadian?

Well if it makes animal lovers feel any better, I usually eat animal crackers by biting the head off first for a fast, efficient kill.

ANIMAL CRACKERS ARE KEPT IN CAGES FOR DAYS TILL THEY ARE READY TO BE EATEN! STOP THE OPPRESSION!

Do not eat hotdogs, trust me, if you have to eat them at least get the all beef. Do not get mechanically separated stuff. My Grampa is a retired food inspector, do not want to know the things I know about what the meat industry feeds us.

Also, never ever eat Tyson meats, ever. It is best to go to a butcher who does his own stuff if possible.

It's not just hotdogs: http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/dalbook.html

Scroll down a bit and there is an extensive list of allowable "defects" in normal, everyday foods.

For example:
MACARONI AND NOODLE PRODUCTS Insect filth
(AOAC 969.41) Average of 225 insect fragments or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples
Rodent filth
(AOAC 969.41) Average of 4.5 rodent hairs or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples

Steve martin in Father of the Bride also noticed this. I think that particular scene was one of the best through the whole movie.

Oh I know bomb, my Grampa told us horror stories about a load of chicken that had gone rotten, they mixed it in with some that had not. Grinded it up all for people to eat in several foods.

It gets worse and goes on and on. Would not believe how much rat stool people eat in their food.
