I always have striven to make things a little better than how I found them. It's a part of who I am. It was a large motivator for why I pursued a career as an attorney: "evolving standards of decency," as the phrase goes. Those standards of decency were what attracted me to and rooted me in EdgeGamers Organization. People here proved not only good at the game but also good at heart.

I have served as the division leader for TF2 for 23 months. I remember the date of my promotion to DL well: I had had a bad day when Spidey, Sephiroth, and Gaming announced to me, one word at a time, that I was being elevated to division leader. It was a reflection of the cheerfulness and friendliness of the community of which I was happy to be a part. Since then, I have been delighted to serve as a guide for this division. More than that, I was so happy to befriend so many new people. There are too many of you to list and too many inside jokes to reference. It comes down to one thing, though: the bonds we forge person-to-person.

I remember being styled Father Seahorse for the first time. I remember LilShortStuf chasing a handful of us for bombing into Vent rooms and singing Happy Birthday. I remember deciding that I wanted to spice up clan-wide meetings, so I used a deeper voice and that sparked the revival of the eGO podcast. I remember m computer and cookie cake and rasins and muggles and shooting squirrels with grandfather clocks. I remember consoling people who were down, watching a separatist movement come and go, and no end of running in circuits on BlackMesa.

So here it is. There's nothing you'll find at the bottom of this post that will be a twist. As of tonight, I am stepping down from my position and leaving eGO. You may ask me why privately; this is not the forum for that discussion, but I will be honest with you as I always have been. I will still be around if you ever want to talk or play MvM or whatever. :)

I like to think I have done good here and served you well. After all, my priority has always been you. As Cicero said, "The well-being of the people is the highest law." Have I played the part well? Then applaud as I exit. Court is adjourned.

You've done things for this community that will be remembered in eGO history, Cael!

We take back all the nice things that we said about you earlier.

:biggrin_old:

Seriously though, best of luck man. See you around the hood.

You've made this division great. God help the next DL be as great as you were.

Father Seahorse. Silicon. Celery. Kylestis. Cael. Thank you for everything you've done. I've never had anyone make such an impact in every aspect of my life. Keep going strong.

You know, being relatively new to eGO, I have little to no idea what any of those inside jokes were when you listed them. But, let me make one thing clear-- you left me teary-eyed anyways. I can tell that wherever you walked around the forums or Ventrilo or TeamSpeak, you had a legacy. And it's that legacy, even if I wasn't there to see it, that will stay with eGO for a longer time than I can imagine.

See ya, Kale. Godspeed, you magnificent vegetable.

*firm salute*

Although I haven't really gotten to know you that much, I know that you have been a great leader and you will be missed greatly. Best of luck Cael and I hope to see you around :D
