[poll] Survival as a medic

I don't mind playing Medic. When I started, it was my most played class, but I stopped playing as much because some players get very impatient with medics and occasionally blame them for their death, some don't protect the medics, and people who want to be healed keep jumping around like maniacs when you have 4 other teammates there and you can't target them because of it.

I know what you mean Booster, Medic was one of my favorite classes, until well the main reason was due to me not being able or wanting to sit back...I like being on the offense or playing some aggressive defense and the way I played with the Medic didn't allow me that but it still is a fun class when you have to play it(or when you feel you have to I guess) or just to play it. Overall all the classes are fun just certain ones you're better at ^^

I keep trying. Every once in a while I'll go medic. But I'm so terrible at it I think I actually get people killed.

Amen to that, brother. I think they should have a Jack Kevorkian achievement for people like us.

I play medic dynamically. I retreat for health if it's nearby, otherwise I stay out of the line of fire and try to keep everyone's health topped off. I lead the boards whenever I stick to medic, but I find it's the most fun to play regardless of points, especially on warpath. I ubered a demoman on warpath to take out sg's on the 2nd to last point, and after that was successful I found myself stuck there with a few enemies wandering around and regrouping. I decided to just whip out the bonesaw and take a chance, which lead to killing an engineer, a demoman, a full health heavy, another demo and another heavy in less than 30 seconds. It was the largest pile of BS I'd ever seen in TF2 and I was glad to be a part of it. I wish I had a demo running to prove that if the action is heavy people get easily distracted and can't focus on one stinking medic. lol, it reminds me of this great Penny-Arcade comic http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/09/21 The worst part of playing medic is when one enemy can walk right up to you when you're surrounded by teammates and no one looks at you as you jump around frantically dodging stickies or baseball bat swings.

All I have to say is ubering master of puppets while he played melee wielding sniper and rushing in to 2fort was one of the brighter moments of my week.

God loves medics! I am very aggressive when playing my 3 best classes (Soldier Heavy and Demoman) and need a good medic. As I said before anyone who has played with me knows I always tell my medic to "stay behind me" and they usually get a hell of a lot of points off of me. I personally believe that the medic is a central part of any assault and protecting them is paramount.

Me and a brave medic that DOESNT run away at the first sign of trouble can wade through and totally destroy entire teams. Anyone who has played with me knows I am speaking the truth. The only reason I am so successful at that is my medic stays with me! You guys have a lot of patience for playing that class and my hats off to you all!

drunkensailor-If you stay behind me I will protect you.
