Hey guys. First off, I am happy to be part of this division. Second, I haven't played TF2 in a year or so, so when I noticed that I got some trading cards, I was kind of confused as to what they were. So my question is, what exactly are the TF2 trading cards, and what are the benefits of having them?

They're cards that you're supposed to collect sets of that "level up" your steam profile and in exchange give you limited-time coupons off of games.

Ah. Okay. And that leads me to my next question. How exactly do you level up in Steam?

Crafting Badges. You craft badges by collecting trading cards. For example, on my profile you see under "badges" that I have level 5 CSGO, FTL, Dota 2, and TF2 badges. That means I collected all the trading cards for each of these games 5 times. The more you level up, the more stuff you can put n your profile, like my Stuff box.

You also get emotes, profile backgrounds, and coupons to games you've never heard of via crafting.

So true, so true. I got a coupon once for DLC Quest. WHO HAS HEARD OF THAT?!?(THE GAME IS WORTH $.75, nice cupon there. Made it $.60. WHAT A DEAL!!!!)

I just sell all the cards for all my games. Probably made over $10 (rakin' it in) after selling all the cards for all the games I have.

Other than emotes, profile backgrounds and coupons, you also get 5 more possible friends whenever you level up.

Whoa woa woa, just because I can have 5 more spots doesn't mean 5 more people will actually pretend to like me on steam.
