So guys, what this thread is about is how you got here and what made you join. So tell me, what made you join Edge Gamers?

(For the record, im listening to the bashing of Kpostal10 in TS. It's amazing, so if there's any derps in there, my bad)

Me: Well i would say it was the first time i joined the Gmod TTT server. TBH, I'm surprised i wasn't instant banned right after my last game when i first played TTT with them. I joined and played for about 8 hours (as per usual). But eventually i had to get some sleep. So my last game became what i like to think of as why i should be banned. It was late. There was one "O" left on. I was in the TS when i discovered it. There were a couple of people left on (about 15). So this is where i should have been banned (this is sort of a confession, but don't take it seriously). So anyways, the round is in the pre-round and i coin up a discussion about RDM, well my RDM fest. Most people ended up not caring and at this time the "O" was nowhere to be seen. Well, lets just say the RDM was real that round, about 7 to be exact. As far as i remember, only a few people remember that. Anyways, the next time i got on TS and the server, the first thing i remembered hearing was:

"I could have banned you for that."

And that was my 1st real experience with eGO and OP:X
This is what made me want to join eGO. After 404 hours of eGO. After 404 hours, i can say going through them with was really great. I've been kicked and believe it or not, banned (Thanks John (not Jon). We got stuck and one of us had to die. It ended up being him, not me and i got banned for what he said was "Mass RDM"). Either way, it was great. I've had fun and its safe to say, I'm not going anywhere for a while.

So guys, what was your 1st experience/impression?

That was one of the advisors on during it and it was all A JOKE

Former pG member, new eGO was the father community, looked at it, looked pretty solid, hopped onto the Dustbowl server, Mister Adam was there, and I said "I just applied...." and I was a member within moments. eGO is probably the most solid community I have ever come across and I hope to stay with it for a long time to come.

oh god lets see. Back in 2009 i was in highschool. I stuck mostly to consoles most of my life going from the sega genesis, gameboys and soon onto N64 all the way to the wii u. I got into PC gaming heavily once i had internet on my computer. Before that is was Doom, redneck rampage, and of course half life and other assorted games.

I remember playing in TF2 for a bit and got invited into eGO by icestyle. After i got accepted i played some TF2....but spent way more time in DoD:S once i found my favorite map 'Flash". Well from then on and well over 2,000 hours i have moved on to OP:X. I would have left eGO sometime ago, but the community is awesome. Capt. Goomba, Capt. Kirk, Blue Stealth, Stormy, noxx_ and so many others kept me going. I could probably list over 30 people...but lets not for the sake of time. I've seen a lot of people change, move on to other games or community's, but I'll stick here till I'm either dead or when the world ends seeing as how most of my friends are still here.

Well, it with the Insurgency division way back in 2008 when I first joined the server, first with some actual teamwork going on, then come 2009 I signed up after being persuaded by some Aussie dude.

Then it was a complete 5 year blur of changing divisions, numerous games (#PRMemories) and ArmA. Shame to see the last one go though :(

Umm, all the planetside. It was Friday about an hour before ops night and I was in an eGO squad. Basically here's the chat
Remember,I'm don't exactly remember it all
Xerinia: ok guys Ops night is in about 10 minutes, anyone not in eGO could you leave? This is a member only thing
Me: but I don't want to go, this is the best platoon I've been in, great communication and cool people.
Matt98(in typical Matt style): sorry bud, you gotta go, it ends at 11 if you want to come back then.
Me: ok.
11pm est
Me to Xerinia: (pm) can I rejoin now?
Xerinia to me: (pm) sure
Me: hey guys I'm back, I really like the eGO outfit, can I join it?
Matt and Xerinia(within seconds of each other): sure, we also have a website where you will have to register, we play alot of other games to.
Me: I don't play a lot of other games lol. But sounds good to me.

my first encounter with eGO was in tf2 about.. two years back now, I was in college and needed something that was cheap and easy to run to play to blow some steam off(try coding programs for four different classes..fun times) anyways I started playing tf2-eGO servers and eventually found out about the vent server so I hopped on (before I had a mic) and started trying to chat to people via text.. almost verbatim
"Ew his typing in chat..do you want to answer him?" lol yea I went and got a mic the day after that then a week or so later switched to OP:X and started blowing peoples esf's up with c4

welp lets see.

it was back in the day when css had a zombie server. although i guess i shouldnt say "a" zombie server ego had THE zombie server. as pretty much the only zombie server with reload, it actually presented a fun challenge.

i hung around the server for around a year before finally joining.

then after around a year changes were made to the server like different zombie types and stuff. and the IP was changed without any announcements, causing a massive decline in playerbase. so leadership nuked the server.

for around a year and a half after that css jail became my stomping grounds. i knew every loophole in the rules, and you couldnt find anyone who was better at angering the warden by finding flaws in their orders that allowed me to do whatever i wanted.

then things changed when the squeakers attacked. the server pretty much went to crap overnight and was a bunch of trigger happy pubs who never got punished for teamkilling.

after 2 1/2 - 3 years of being with css and never even being looked at for a promo even though sometimes i was the only one keeping order in the server i decided i really needed a change

for a few months i bounced around between basically every division we had trying to find somewhere i fit. strat was alright, but they tended to be sticklers for the rules. tf2 was fun, but my god were there a lot of weirdos. cod wasnt really my cup of tea but i had a couple friends there so i gave it a shot, didnt work out. i tried dods, the people there were great but i just couldnt get good at the game. i ran eve for a couple months before i tired of online banking.

then came INS. i really enjoying that game and we had a great group there. i kind of caught it on the tailend of the division fight as FPSX was formed so fps became my new home division, and i made friends with all the regulars and tried to welcome all the new people as they came along.

within 6 months of joining fpsx i had risen from a scrawny little e to a great big O. i felt like i was appreciated in this division and people liked having me around.

time rolled on and fpsx absorbed strat division, and fpsx was reborn as opx. (though things didnt change much)

and after nearly 5 years here, i can say that things have always been interesting, and eGO has been the greatest gaming community ive had the pleasure of being a part of

This Concludes History With C.
