Dod Team tournament??? I have some ideas for rules we would just have to get the word out on the servers and promote other server play in the process.

Personal opinion: including pubs probably wont do any good as their teams will either wreck everyone (I could see a TCN comp team showing up for the glory), or will get wrecked (random pubs that can't play). After a match or two they will most likely give up. Also, I do not think DoD has enough of a competitive player base anymore to host any type of a competitive tournament.

If you guys want to give it a shot, I am willing to help out. But just so you know, I have never had any experience with open tournaments (as opposed to eGO only), and recently I do not have the time to do anything at prime hours (can't ref matches). However, I would probably be able to get some work done behind the scenes. Still, I do not think this would work out in DoD.

Leadership and the ECs had been talking about it a couple of weeks ago, and I think we all mostly agreed that DoDS simply doesn't have the fan base to do it even if we opened it up to the public, and Chuck brought up some good points in the quote above about teams just quitting, not showing up, or simply being a team of competitive players who roll over everyone.

We are a very competitive bunch and this seems to be a no brainer to do.

I dont think you fellas have ANY idea what has to happen behind the scenes to pull something like this off. In the past, we have done some, JUST within eGO, and it was STILL hard to get teams to show up.

Its still being discussed, but it is NOT a no brainer, and cash prizes are out of the question.

Keep your eyes open, there may be something sort of similar to this in the future, but not right now.

Seems like a good idea for the ghost servers (ava2) to get some play going that is different and competitive.

Turn off points and play for wins. First to 5 wins have to win by 2 kind of game.

It is hard to get people to show up for these. People may seem pumped but when the time comes, they are MIA. It only takes a couple missing and the teams lose interest. I've seen this happen in my past adventures.

This is 100% how it works, almost every time. Dont worry, we will come up with something fun
