This is a very serious scam warning. There is a guy sending out requests to join a new steam community group. If you look at the URL he sends you, it looks like the following:

h1.rip-wayy.net/steamcommunity/signup/

[ Edited link slightly for specific purposes - Midway ]

Please do not go to this link. It looks like the Steam sign-in page, but it is not Valve's page. It is their page, and they will rip off your username and password. If you submit your information to this page, you need to change your password immediately since they will damage your account.

Yeah, I just got this one today. Looks exactly like Steam's page.

ALWAYS check URL's, guys. And ALWAYS be wary of unknown people sending you links.

Yeah, they use compromised accounts to attempt to get that user's friends.

yeah and never be an idiot liek me that clicked it and put in his password and username... because if u do ull be stressed liek me and ull be writing to valve.. jsut like me!

Noobkiller had this happen as well, but he knows about this now.

Be very careful guys, people are tricky.

It's also good to remember that anything steam related CAN be taken care of from within the steam client itself, so you shouldn't ever be asked to put your steam login information anywhere outside of the client.

Yes. Steam already knows your information. You should never have to put it in again, knowing you're logged in.

It does truly suck, and I don't get people who do this, let alone, maintain all the stolen accounts.

I'm allready too paranoid from playing WoW to trust anything like this hehe

Yeah I hated every time that an update came out and I had to go re-download updated custom interfaces, because so many people were getting keylogged through all of the downloads. Any game that you play that has an account and login has people that try to steal accounts. :(

I wonder how much traffic this site could handle. I mean, if several hundred members hit it with fake IDs and passwords, we could probably crash it, couldn't we?

got the IP for the server the site is on. My brother is a hacker and shuts sites down like this. Ill see what I can do.

Thanks, Tenche. I love people who hack for good, not evil. My compliments to you and your responsible brother.
