Bot testing

Hello ladies,

We are testing with bots and playing around with the idea it might help us fill the server.

So that no one has a brain aneurysm, we are just informing you now that this is a test and if it works we will keep it up.

If not, mark it as failed and we will move on.

Testing shouldn't even be a thing with tf2 bots. They don't and will NEVER work will filling servers. In fact, bots have killed servers more than help fill.

The ONLY time bots should even be NEAR a server like this is 2 bots, 1 on each team ,when their are no players. All this does is always a single player to go on and shoot at something while they wait for a second player. Once the second player joins, both bots are gone.

I know you guys are getting desperate but please, don't resort to bots. I guarantee you that you will lose a fair share of regulars if you do.

You guys need to understand that we're trying anything we can to get server population higher, since most of you don't want to attend fills or help in any way.

They aren't gonna be permanent, that's what 'testing' means. The more people that we get in the server, the less bots there will be...

Considering you haven't been around here in a while, you have no room to talk. We are getting tired and our players are getting tired of empty servers. We are getting tired of sending out requests to fill the damn servers.

How about this, drop TF2 altogether? Is that your best solution?

Don't slam us for trying. Everyone complains leadership isn't doing anything, leadership this leadership that. Nothing but complaints and no one is ever happy. Why come here to a free gaming community and try to make 100 people happy?

I pop in on TF2 on occasion (would be more but been playing on our DOD servers and, admittedly, GTA)

I'm not sure if this has already been suggested, although I wouldn't be surprised if it has, and if it has then disregard, but perhaps doing more incentive-based events, such as server filling contests or something similar, and the reward could be DS Lite, in-game items, games, etc and getting the word out about it/them.

I talked with one of DODS Leadership about the possibility of hosting road-trips to TF2 as our event(s)..hopefully it'll work out.

I think it was an awesome idea. I hope we keep them. They auto add and drop when ppl fill.


Now if people want to be our server fills by alll means! We are trying to make it easier and fun once again.

Im sorry, is my opinion suddenly invalid because i dont play tf2 very often anymore? Do I need to spend all my extra time in an empty server in a game i don't really play a lot of anymore?

Ive been playing a LOT more smite. Its something i enjoy a lot more than tf2 atm.

Still, while I don't really play tf2 very often I still care enough to put in my 2 cents, but because i dont fill, i get harassed? I get told my opinion is useless because I dont play very often?

Your post right there is the reason why I don't care for the servers anymore. Crazy mob mentality going on here. A leader posts what they think and all of a sudden they are right. Being a leader doesn't make you right. Don't assume all of leaderships decisions were the right choice.

Go ahead and remove my tags and stuff. Im ashamed of having them because of leaders like you.

Also, We have one very specific person filling, and i don't EVER see her getting any thanks.

Funny since the thread said testing, and you get all salty. I've heard nothing but complaints about you whining about this and that about our events and this and that.

I'm sorry... but in order to actually have a valid opinion, you actually need to be on to know what's been going on and how the status of everything is. We're not saying you need to spend every possible moment on our servers, but to pretty much stop playing and then complain about what's going on? That's doesn't make any sense.

As for filling... you obviously don't pay much attention to our announcements, otherwise you would see that we have multiple people doing fills. We give everyone credit where it's due.

So, this is what makes me angry. You say that it kills servers. You say it makes us lose regulars. But as already stated you know what's funny? You aren't in servers, and half the time I see you in the TF2 rooms you're telling others to be quiet while you're playing smite. You're quick to judge Leaderships decision, but you know what else is funny? There is 1 ComMgr 1 DL and 4 Advisors, that's 6 people. And last time I checked that's not enough people to fill a server. So in stead of complaining fill the server so there aren't any bots. If you don't want to listen to Leadership, then listen to me.

Stop Complaining, and start helping.
