So I started recording last night and after searching and ultimately failing to find an almost but not quite full server that all of us (10+ eGO members) could join, we all ended up just joining the event server and getting it filled with us (10+ eGO members) and a handful of other brave pubbers who were surprisingly willing to follow in our round after round of troll antics for the evening.
Games we played included (but were not limited to):
1. Vehicle launch contest
2. Don't shoot the c4
3. Claymore obstacle course
4. EOD bot wars
5. Defib Domination
6. Shield wars
7. Pistol only TDM
8. Gadget only TDM
and more...
After reviewing some of the footage and reflecting on the trollish terrors we unleashed, I realized how much fun I and I believe many of others (from the insane laughter rumbling through teamspeak) really had.
I propose that we setup some sort of regular-ish time that we can all get in there and have the "eGO Troll Games". maybe even with some sort of basic awards (Probably just a mention in some sort of announcement). I will record all that I can and produce it for YouTUBE. If we can get a big enough eGO turnout, I'll put some eGO branding into the videos so we can get more people interested our community.
On a sidenote I'd like to take a second and give my opinion on why I think this worked and how we can really make it shine for our community.
We all know that hardline was meant to bring some new life to all of our BATTLE hardened lives. We also all know that Hardline to date has been a bit of a letdown. Personally, I was really looking forward to new objectives, game modes and so forth. Unfortunately with the steady decline in the online playerbase, those opportunities are dwindling at best. I think this has brought alot of players back to BF4. Many of these players, disheartened from the letdown of Hardline are looking for something new to fill that void that Hardline has left in its mediocre wake.
Enter "eGO Troll Games"....
The games give us something new that hardline has left us waiting for... It can breathe some new life and laughter into a game that many of us have played to death. I've found myself lately getting bored and even angry doing the same tactics and weapon grinds that I had been loving for the past year+. I think something like the "eGO Troll games", even if simplified to just weapon specific based challenge rounds, can bring that breath of fresh air back to an aging but far from dead community.
With enough community support and engagement we could re-institute the server password on the event server for ensured eGO only participation. OR we could leave it open but have admins ready to enforce the weapon specific requirements of the games.
Either way I can't wait to get in there and troll it up with you guys as soon as possible.
