So, I've been looking into competitive TF2, and since Nudist hasn't been on in a couple days, I thought I would post a thread.

So what's the status of our team? Are they active? How can I get involved and join?

If you guys know anything, help would be appreciated!

We had a team for highlander last season, we sort of sponsored them and some were members. At this time we do not have one. I would love to have a team, but unfortunately I have been preoccupied with other issues in the division. I am certainly willing allow a team, heck ill join it, as long as we can get enough people.

I would love to have a team. How do we start one up? I also know it's the middle of a season though.

Wait for the next season and register a team under this organisations name. Naturally leadership (Mister36, I guess) should know about it and approve it. Though I think getting a highlander team would be extremely difficult, since you need to have 9 members and subs...

I believe that 6s is the more competitive gamemode in TF2, from my experiences at least. Highlander teams tend to be more relaxed, and used as more of an entry way into competitive TF2, where as 6s is where the big boys play. I'm not sure what leagues are available but the one that I do know if is ESEA, and the only gamemode there is 6s.

Well I know that UGC has 6v6 and 4v4 seasons underway right now. We would be aiming for a 6v6 team because like Waffle said, Highlander is too many people for us right now.

That and UGC are the two currently going that I have participated in. UGC is Summer, started June 21 this year (might be the same every year). There is also IGL, and TWL that I have played in that seem to no longer be available. ESL and CEVO were also kind of popular that no longer have TF2. RTF2L was a Russian thing that I heard a lot about, but it apparently mysteriously disappeared. For European if you are from there or have good enough internet where ping isn't much of an issue, there is: ETF2L (Euro version of RTF2L), ESA, and I think the other is called Wiredplay. These are still all active.

There are plenty of leagues, and more that are country specific that I wont get into. TF2 should get slightly more popular soon before dying back down. TF2 probably doesn't have too many years left. They released so much new content so quickly, and the steam workshop is starting to get stale. But anyways, competitive play is still seen. And about 3/4 of them also have a Highlander division. The thing is that 6v6 is more different from normal gameplay, and there are a lot of cool things you can do with the common classes used for it. Let me tell you though, you can get pretty crazy as a sniper. Some videos I have seen from snipers in Competitive Highlander (Like some of the higher end UGC plat plays), and even some of the things I have pulled off myself (like head shotting a soldier in the middle of a rocket jump right after you land from jumping off a building), pretty intense. The thing is, that most Highlanders are Payload, which kind of kills it a bit, and the added Engineer and Spy makes it seem more like a fun game, since these roles aren't exactly competitive material (though I have also seen some amazing spy plays. Actually,a spy is a lot like a sniper, just up close and from behind, or using trickshots. Leave the engy to the demo).

Sorry for ranting, I just still have some leftover passion for competitive TF2 after how much I put into it.

I can tell you obviously love it. I don't have time to really help set up a team but if we could get some people to go through the process and all that would be amazing and we could get word out. I mean only if people want a team for eGO. I'm not leadership or anything, so I'm not sure how to start this thing up or even what we need to go through to get it approved I guess by our division. I guess that's another question that needs to be answered. We just need to figure out (We as in leadership dudes) if we want a team. I just had an itch to start one up again to start playing competitive with some clan mates and thought it would be a good idea.

First get it cleared by TF2 leadership, which would be pretty much a guaranteed yes judging from what I've seen so far of the current leadership, then I believe they have to get it cleared with the big bosses of all of eGO, then we start recruitment. Of course we would have to have a leader for the competitive division, make a forum for the competitive team... err... yeah. Maybe make in-game badges for the team? Just a bonus thought.

There is some big interest for a competitive team, and many people here (including myself) have played a few seasons of both Highlander and 6's. Hell, I've even dabbled in Ultiduo for a couple tournaments.

So I would propose this: Post your main two classes/roles in this thread, just for future reference. We'll discuss in Advisor Private about the implications of trying out another season!

A Nudist Colony
6's : Scout/Medic
HL : Engineer/Pyro

Sounds good I suppose.

6's: Scout/Medic (copycat)
HL: Sniper/Scout

I like how that sounds.

6's: Soldier/Scout
HL: Soldier/Pyro/Engi
