Hey sorry guys but I have to keep it short my PC may or may not freeze. So every time I play any game, after 10 to 15 minutes of game play, my computer will freeze. Not the program itself, but the whole PC. It does not shut off but stays in a sorta stasis state. I cannot ctrl+alt+del or alt+tab out. That little red light that is on the front of the tower stops blinking, which I am pretty sure means the disk is not doing anything correct me if I am wrong? So I am going to put this into 2 parts on the chance that my PC crashes.
The things I have done:
- Deep Cleaned The Hardware (compressed air)
- Replaced Thermal Paste On CPU
- Made Sure My Hard Drive Was Not Falling Asleep
- Updated GPU Drivers
- Added More Fans, And Adjusted Old Ones To Make Sure There Is No Negative Airflow
- Checked HDDs and SSD Status (through command prompt) To See If Any Had Failed (they checked out and are fine)
I also called Microsoft Support and had them remotely control my PC to check for problems. They said I have to take it to a local technician, because it is a hardware problem. Also I have to manually restart or shutdown my PC with the buttons on the front of the tower. I will try to scrape together all my hardware specs and will get back to you with them.
Windows 10 Pro (still had the same issue with windows 7 Ult)
CPU: AMD FX-9590 4.7 MHz
MB: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
RAM: G.Skill F3-12800CL9-4GBRL DDR3 16GBytes Max Frequency = PC3-12800 (800MHz)
GPU: PNY Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 Size: 4096 Type: GDDR5
Sorry If I missed anything or added to much I have never posted specs before and had to use CPU Z
Ok guys I used a program called prime95 (stress tester) to see if my CPU would fail, and it did. After about 2-5 minutes my PC freezes when running prime95 "torture test". I am going to run one more test with hwmonitor to check to see if it is overheating. I will get back to you when I do that. Until then please think of suggestions. I don't know if you guys are all busy this weekend, because I have only had one reply. Please, please don't give up on me my fellow edgegamers!
Ok so after running the stress test for a third time, and the PC crashing again, with hwmonitor open I found these results and temperatures.
CPU: 71.0 ?C or 159.8 ?F
System: 27 ?C
TMPIN2: 71 ?C
All cores being utilized at 100%
That seems really high to me, but I don't pretend to know that much about computers.
Also my CPU and cooler are these:
CPU: AMD FX9590 8-core processor 4.7 GHz
Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120v
Do you guys have any solutions? I was wondering if my CPU packs to much power for the cooler? If so should I "under clock" until I get a new cooler. Also could it be that my CPU is just busted?
Again guys please help me.
