Tech Help HDMI or DVI/VGA

So i am getting a new PC soon. I plan to have dual screens, but there is a problem. I would like to use HDMI, because of better quality, except the PC only has 1 HDMI port. The PC does have 2 VGA and 2 DVI ports. So my question is, do i go with the old school options? Because HDMI is faster so if i were to use HDMI and an old school port, would it be like 1 monitor is way fast, and the other is slow? Lastly, could i use maybe a sort of converter like a USB to HDMI thing? Would it slow down the input from the monitor to the PC? Thanks to anyone who answers my stupid questions.

Concur with everyone; no big difference between HDMI vs DVI. What I look at is the video card and what connections it has. Once I know that, then I decide to go with either HDMI, DVI, or even DisplayPort.

VGA just burn in a fire and let it die.

AVI and VGA will be gone soon.

HDMI is good for gaming better than AVI to me plus can hook up to TV for great sound to watch movies etc. without all the media server crap.

Well, dependent on the type on monitor you're going to have, I use a DVI for my VG245QE144hz monitor.

If you have the option to use HDMI, do so. Otherwise use display port or DVI connection type.

VGA is the worst.

No problem HDMI monitors are at / have been good priced for the last year.

I'd rather just plug it in and go then feel all back 5 yrs+ ago with bulky heads AVI/VGA and screw adapter so annoying always were lol

Make sure your gpu has multiple HDMI and/or DVI slots for more monitors

My "gaming" computer is a 2009 workstation. I have had it for years, and it has held up so well. I can't play next gen games like Assassin's Creed 4, or Far Cry 4, but i can still handle just about anything with this PC. I dunno why you say VGA is soo bad, but i have been using it for a very long time. Still, when i get the chance, i will go to DVI.

And rightfully so! Any new hardware bought today, whether it be a TV, Computer, or Blue-Ray player, all have HDMI Ports on them as a standard.

Yeah plus I really do not like the weight of the plugs from DVI or VGA which have not used in years, they are crap heavy to be hanging on a card retention screws or not over time heat+weight can lead to malformation slight bending in the adapters seen it happen.

HDMI super light cable, carries HDMI 1080 res up and HD sound plug and go.

I agree research connector ports on cards if you are going to run multiple displays I prefer 1 for some reason may bumped to 2 down the road for multiple OS
